Re: Moving to Buenos Aires discussion

After reading this thread and the old one by themetetron, I was pretty sold on moving to BsAs hands down. However, after reading some threads about Costa Rica, I'm suddenly not sure that BsAs is the easy #1 choice for me. Does anyone have experiences or pros/cons with both areas? I really like that CR is closer/cheaper to travel to/from the US, has live poker options @ casinos, and has cheaper rent prices.

Yeah, where is this casino in case I wanna check it out?

Also, what the hell is up with this swine flu? Everything is closed! I was gonna go to a rugby match on Saturday, but they suspended the entire season on Friday, and this situation has repeated itself at least 3 times in the past week to me. Any over/under until life starts here again?

lol yes that sucks, also some schools and universitys are close now.
The casino is in puerto madero http://www.cirsa.com/casinos/puerto_...ng/default.htm
But again i dont recomend playin poker there lol,in this case because the rules, there are no blinds, people juust put antes, and the position is very wierd, like if you are on the buttom but you bet the flop, you are first in act on the turn lol

Do any of you have experience buying glasses in Buenos Aires? I need a new prescription + frames & lenses and I'm wondering if it's cheaper/better to wait until I move rather than buy here in the U.S. first. Anybody know, for starters, how much eye exam would cost in B.A.?

Get a cheap eye exam at walmart or lenscrafters. Then take your prescription and use eyeglassdirect.com. I just got 2 new pairs of frames & lenses with expedited shipping for 60 bucks.

Some fair warning, Portuguese will make you want to stab yourself in the eye. But good luck anyway!

Does Alamo show American Football games? I've never been, but everyone always says thats the American sports bar, so if not there, they're probably not anywhere.

Re: Moving to Buenos Aires discussion

Alamo, Drink Gallery, Casa Bar...at least those 3 show nfl games.

note that DirecTV Argentina only shows 3 NFL games per time slot, so you may or may not be able to watch your hometeam/the best game of the day.
