Pretty much a wild animal park. In Lujan, took 45 mins to and hour to get there from the city.
Was awesome! Got to pet tigers and lions. Was one of the highlights and not in guidebooks last I checked.
lol pretty sure that zoo is under a lot of heat because what they're doing is extremely dangerous

Hello there

I will arrive in BA the 20th of feb and I am looking for habitation.
What is the best area to live? I heard about palermo soho... I will study in UCA ( puerto madero) and I would like to know if taxis are expensive or not?

Thanks in advance

The lions and tigers are completely doped up.
Has anybody gotten injured? My expectation was that as somebody did, they were f'd.

Everybody I know who has gone there had a blast.

Getting to Puerto Madero from Palermo is not very convenient. It's too far away. If you take the subway, you'd have about a 10 block walk from the last station. The 152 bus would leave you closer but would be slower. Taxis are somewhat expensive now. Assuming you need 5 minutes to walk from your house to the subway, it would probably take about 40 minutes to get from Palermo to UCA.

If you stay in San Telmo you would be right next to your school.

That zoo sounds disgusting. Animals obviously treated horrifically and drugged up beyond belief I imagine.

For a furnished place? I rented from www.bytargentina.com and then negotiated directly with the owner after I had a place that I liked. There are probably cheaper options available for residents but I don't know what they are.

Maybe you can check renting at puerto madero, you will find a better quality of life compared to san telmo.

Puerto Madero is very expensive.
What do you mean by better quality of life? Is San Telmo unsafe?

I cant remember, but how much roughly can you cut out of the advertised prices on sites like BAApartments etc if you negotiate on the ground and are staying for 6 months+?

I remember it was a reasonably substantial percentage

It's a little bit grimy tbh. And close to a few dodgy areas so you get the odd unsavoury character hanging about. Not that unsafe if you keep your wits about you. I wouldn't be too worried staying there but I would rather stay somewhere a bit nicer.

Just because they are drugged up for awhile when around people does not mean in general they are treated horrifically.

They have tons of animals, others would not be drugged up at all.

I would say in general that is exactly what it means.

You will find less noise and pollution in Puerto Madero, and newer buildings. Puerto Madero is also safer.

How is Las Canitas compared to Palermo? Is it recommended to live in also?

Can you negotiate with owners via that website with short term rentals? (Only plan on staying a month right now)

go to the nearest police station with your passport, ask for a certificado de domicilio, wait at home the next day

it costs 10 pesos

and you need to tell them which company is for, so that they can write it on the certificate
