Last year was just insane with my favorite 3 acts being LCD Soundsytem, Chemical Brothers, and Carl Cox. Seriously like 75% of the people you see there will be rolling which was a bit weird since we only had weed, but it was fun nonetheless. Some really drugged out cute girls there rubbing up on you because they were so horny from E was pretty awesome.

If you like electronic music, you have to go. If you don't, it's probably still worth going to unless you hate clubs.

So annoyed that I'm missing this, I should have brought my flights earlier to make it

My new favorite joke:

Q: How many Portenas does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
A: One. She grabs onto the bulb and waits while the rest of the world revolves around her.

Credit to the Porteno who told this to me.

Now this exceeds me. How did you get the info for this place, it -obviously?- doesn't show up in Google.

Can you just provide them all at once? It's not very useful to have them strung out over 5 pages of the thread. I know it's alot of work to write up, but I would greatly appreciate it. I'm definitely going to check out La Vineria at some point.

Ian gets a huge gold star for putting this together. All of you who are on the fence about coming or not need to get it together.

However, since I was considering Maat (another closed door restaurant), he's sorta stealing my thunder.

Haven't been to Buenos Aires since March or April so I need some updating on the nightlife situation.

Is Opera Bay still closed? What are they doing with that space now if it is?

I assume Pacha is still open and as ridiculous as ever, yes?

Jobs still around it seems like. What days is archery going on there now?

That's all I've got at the moment. Excited to be there in a week!

From what I know, Opera Bay is gone and never coming back. I think they destroyed it and are building a big fancy hotel right where it used to be.

Don't know about the archery exactly. They can change based on the season. In addition, my going out habits tend to make remembering specific details such as those very difficult. I'm vaguely remembering Tuesday, Friday, Saturday though.

So coxquinn and I are both moving back to Buenos Aires in beginning of January. We are currently looking at ultra-luxury apartments to rent and have find a few to choose from. While there are some 2 bedrooms we like, there are also a few 3 and 4 bedrooms that are even more awesome. Problem is, I'm really not going to front his busto ass 3/4 of the rent on a $10k/mo apartment.

So, I'm seeing if there is any interest in sharing a VERY baller place in most likely Palermo Soho. The rent is rather expensive for Buenos Aires at around $2k/mo per person (US). These places are seriously sick with pools/terraces/gyms/saunas/theater rooms/etc. Not for the busto, but honestly not totally outrageous if you imagined you weren't living in Buenos Aires.

If you want more info send me a PM. The rentals will probably be from first week in January until sometime in May/June when I take a couple months to tour Thailand.

Festivals are unreal, but without drugs you might not 'get' it, so keep that in mind.

It's insanity. Incredibly awesome. I'm going with me + 4 more. Anyone else who needs people to go with is free to join us but some form of drugs will probably be consumed for this event so keep that in mind... though I know at least one of us will likely be sober.

Is weed enough? I want to try ex but still a little scared over any longterm crap it could do to my body. What about shrooms, those are safe no?

Yeah I mean last year we just had weed (though I remember us wishing we had something a bit harder). No idea what the choice will be this year. Even weed takes a bit of the edge off and let's you enjoy it all more.

I mean if you hate electronic music sure it might. I've never been to a better electronic festival anywhere.

Shrooms are awesome, but there's no way I'd take them at a festival for a first time. Trips can very wildly, and unless I was experienced, psychedelics probably aren't the way to go.

Weed is fine for me personally, but for some reason it doesn't make me tired (and its pretty buzzy if I chug down energy drinks), but some people get very sleepy which would suck balls at a festival, I'd rather just be drunk if I was one of those people.

Try and acquire some ecstasy, which is a good first timer drug imo, the effects leave you in control but feeling awesome. A hit of acid might also be good but finding that will probably be a lot harder, although its a lot of fun giggling at everything you see

Seriously... UNKLE & Erick Morillo.

Also, I screwed this one up last year. If the weather is remotely cold DO NOT expect the crowd's body heat to keep you warm. I almost froze my ass off last year and it made me miserable. Can't remember if it was unusually cold last year or something, but I intend on bringing a sweater to keep me warm at 3am.
