I need 10 posts to get my private message installed, so I'll respond to some random stuff. By the way, you still selling your desk, or have you sold it?

That last message was meant for Uncle John, regarding his deportation sale.

Hey guys

I'm moving in tomorrow (wed.)

Recoleta! So I've got a **** ton of work to do but I'd love to grab a bite/drinks with you guys this weekend.

I figure I should probably grab a phone somewhere as well as a spanish tutor. Any recommendations for either?

Also, are you guys interested in doing some multi-course dinner? I recall reading about Baqueano being the super nuts and only like $40 usd.

Hasn't it been the volcano the whole time?

If you make it here by Saturday, I'm going to a free little rock festival thingie in Recoleta to see one of my favorite bands, it starts at 3pm.

For phones, either acquire an unlocked phone before coming, or get something really cheap and crappy here.

i'm selling my phone here if anyone wants it and doesn't want to deal with the hassle of buying one. it's just the cheap little Nokia model when I came here and wasn't sure if I was going to stay and never replaced it.

price: 100 pesos plus you buy my lunch at Sudestada when I give it to you.

"festival" might be implying that this is something more than it really is (as far as size)

here's the info:

I'm only planning to go on Saturday.

Any of you have an Argentine address on your Full Tilt account, and know anything about withdrawing from it. I have friends in Europe who can withdraw without problems.

Does anyone know if there are like higher end internet connections I can purchase? Tried google searching in English, that doesn't really work very well lol

http://www.fibertel.com.ar/seccion-114-10Megas.html is looking somewhat legit but $150usd for 15megs a month, which I'm pretty sure isn't going to work at that speed, is STEEP

I think in the U.S., a solid connection there d/ls at like 27 mbps and uploads 1mbps

When I lived in BsAs I had a 3in1 thing from telecentro.com.ar. Cable TV, telephone and internet. Local calls to other landlines were either free or some ridiculous amount of free minutes were included. Internet was available at 3 to 15 mbit without any limits on usage. I can't actually remember what it cost, but it was nowhere near 150USD/month, but more like 150ARS/month for one of the faster connections.
Find someone who speaks spanish and have them talk to telecentro would be my plan.

Syous,

If you rent through one of the agencies, and pay a monthly rent including all utilities, you could probably just ask your landlord to arrange for a faster connection - and offer to pay the difference obv. That will save you the hassle of dealing with any sort of argie bureaucracy plus some time and, most likely, some money.

yeah, that's what I'm offering but I don't trust them to deliver me good service so I'd rather find the company myself that offers a high bandwidth. I really doubt they'd be like, oh ok, let me find you the best deal and bandwidth package that comes with it D:

yo, is it me or am I seeing jamon y queso everywhere
