Anyone ever had really good fried chicken here? I remember seeing some Peruvian places near the abasto shopping mall that looked like they offered some but I never tried. I really have a yearning for fried chicken right now.

Go to any Peruvian place (no fusion) and ask for "chicharron de pollo".

I actually never had them in BS, but in Lima the fried chicken is pretty good. Anyways, imo Chan Chan near centro is the best Peruvian restaurant (great food, but modest place), dont know any of the places in Abasto.

Looking for something to do tonight?

Hype is back again for 2010. Pretty much the biggest/best gringo night out in town.

It happens at KIKA, a bling club in Palermo on Honduras 5339, starting at midnight. For VIP reservations please call 15 6828 7140 quoting Simon.

Music is Rock, Hip-Hop, Dubstep, Electro and Drum & Bass (I play the d&b ).

And is literally packed with hot girl (if you don't believe me check the pics)

See you there!

You're right. A bunch of us went there for a friend's birthday party, it was all in all one of the most pleasurable dining experiences, if not the most, I had in BA. I'm good friends with the owner, so if you go there, tell the owner (his name's Toufic) that you're Matt Cloepfil's friend, and he'll get you a reservation/good table. He also happens to love poker. He's not good. But I highly recommend it....its obviously pricey but has great food and a real cool atmosphere.

The cell phone company Claro has mobile internet, speeds aren't the greatest but I know a few guys that use them. Only problem is you need a DNI to sign up and they are 2 year contracts. Though if you find an Argentine willing to sign up you could give them the cash up front for the early termination fee in case you need to cancel prior to 2 years.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, it may be 6 months not 2 years I forget.

Thanks. 2 years would suck. What poker player can stay anywhere for 2 years? I'll check it out though. 6 months would work.

hey guys, forgot there was this thread.... anyways i arrive in buenos aires thursday night at ~5pm. I grind sngs for a living and am getting out of the las vegas lifestyle and going to try out backpacking south america, starting in BA obv..

So i have 2 friends (chicks) I'm meeting in BA and they will basically be my tourguide for the next few weeks at least.. we'll be staying in hostels and riding around busses aparently. any advice i could get from you guys would be greatly appreciated..

I've never backpacked or even really left the west coast of north america for that matter.

any hostel recommendations for when i arrive after 21 hours of travel? are there any grinder houses with open rooms ? guest rooms? thanks in advance guys, im hoping to find a stable internet connection to play about 15 hours a week or something on my laptop if possible.

ur lucky if u have stable internet at your own apartment.

Highly doubt uŽll find this in an hostel, but i have no idea, just guessing.

There are many restaurants with WIFI though, but again, dunno bout stability...
