they're pretty libertarian about marijuana (maybe the only thing Argentina is libertarian on). it's more or less decriminalized. as for the rest, i hear different things from different people.

What's up fellas? I am going to be in BA next Wednesday for a little longer than a week, would love to meet up for one of the dinners or whatever--just sent a request to join that FB group that was referenced earlier. I am going to be staying in Palermo I believe and will probably also stay in BA again at the tail end of my journey towards the end of February.

Does anyone know the 2+2 alias of John, the guy with red hair that leaved in the house on the same street of Ben on Ciudad de la Paz?
I want to ask him a question.
TIA & Regards ...

We went to renew our visas today but we misremembered how many days it had been, and we ended up being 2-3 days late. The lady there told us that since our visas were already expired, we would have to pay 300 pesos when we leave the country, no matter when it is, and that therefore there was no point in us doing anything today.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

pay 300 pesos next time you leave the country, nothing else to say really

If you cross the border at some ****hole shack in the middle of nowhere they might forget to charge you the fine and you can run good [hi Sean]

but if we had actually renewed our visas, we would have paid 300 pesos anyway I thought? So what's the point?

And it's like totally acceptable for us to be here illegally? The whole thing just seems a bit weird.

No you wouldn't have to pay to renew your visa. You might get a bit of crap off immigration next time you leave but its not a big deal. Just make sure to take in to account the extra time it will take to pay the fee when you leave next time. It takes about 10-20 minutes

They are definitely making life more difficult for people staying on tourist visas and foreigners in general which is effing ******ed seeing as we are the ones propping up this stupid economy.

they have instituted the $120 or so fee for Americans. however, to this point, they're only charging it at ezeiza, and it's good for 10 years?

Poker players are still in the minority of expats living here, I'm sure they're not stupid enough to make Argie a hard country to get into/stay.

Yeah is anybody doing anything tonight?

Everytime I come to Buenos Aires to scout a possible relocation, somebody tries to scam me somehow. I never fall for it but fake currency, girls involved in apartment sex scams, hustlers, it gets old. And I soon end up leaving for Punta del Este.

It would be nice to run into some nice, decent, cool people. If anybody is doing something tonight or this weekend, please holler.

p.s A tiny little bit about me. I am mostly on 2p2 full ring medium/high stakes board (FTP reg). Went to the same university as LozColbert, graduated right before he got there.
