If someone can lend me like 400 pesos cash at tonight's dinner, I can ship you FT money beforehand. Please send a PM. I have an appointment to get my student visa tomorrow, but still no debit card/money to pay for it.

Also, in for the dinner. Let me know what to bring.

estoysinblanca, you also need to get an insurance ASAP !! I have one at Gallieno, it's a reputable compagny from what my PA told me. I pay US$80 / month.

I dunno, I have insurance and I have definitely lost money on the gamble since I have been living here. I have it just bc I am lazy and don't want to go through the hassle of paying the odd medical bill. The nicer clinics are pretty cheap and if you aren't planning on staying here that long, I would say it isn't worth it. After all, any form of insurance is just a sucker's bet that we willing take in order to lower life variance.

Then again, if you get sick a lot or are a hypochondriac then it's prolly a good bet.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm not sick that often, so i don't really need insurance. Still have a belgian one running that i can use for more serious treatments + to claim some monies back but whatever. I'll just pay the 120 pesos when i need it!

Gotta stay in a few days.. ****** boredom grinding alll day i guess.

Hey guys!

I've just moved to BA and it would be great to meet some other poker-players. I started university yesterday (trying to learn spanish) and thought it would be a good way of getting in contact with people. Ended up having coffee with a guy in my class who tried to recruit me for his sect (I am not kidding).

Anyways, feel free to drop me a PM if something is up.

Quiroz is my favorite bar to chill out with friends. They have live music most nights, and it's a great atmosphere. It's a hooka bar, but there's no smoke, and most people are just there for the bar and food. It's on the corner of Gorriti and Malabia.
For party bars, I've got no clue. All the ones I know are full of smokers.

I'll have to check that out, if anyone has any other suggestions, it'd be cool if you posted them.

Kinda early notice, but Don Omar will be performing at GEBA next month. I'll be buying tickets in a week or so. Anyone interested in joining? Tickets range from 500 to 120ish.

Puerto Madryn is a nice seaside town, but I was only there when my parents were visiting me, so don't know much about the nightlife or anything. Stay in the villa piren hotel if you go down there, really nice place, with a view of the sea/whales if its the right season.

Mar del plata is nice too, casino is alright, but only been there was, played a bit of poker but wasn't taking it too seriously, think it was 10/20 pesos or something can't really remember. That was probably the biggest game running if I was even playing that. Can't remember.

I'm really disappointed that you don't remember the game we played in and possibly the greatest hand of poker I've ever played. "Esta enfermo!!!!"

Roughly 7 months ago, in the offseason, they had several 2/4 peso games running. I believe they only spread higher games in the prime summer season.

Is it easy to open up an account there for people on perpetual tourist visas? I am a U.S. citizen. I heard H.S.B.C. is popular there, I already have a U.S. account with them.

I don't know anyone here who uses an Argentine bank as their primary account. It's very difficult to get money in and out of the country.

Also, the last thing I want is that the Argentine govt knows exactly what I make.
