I need a new monitor. I'm right next to the apple store, but I'm sure its a huge ripoff. Any suggestions on where to go? Or should I get something shipped here and pay the taxes?

Also I want an office chair..theres a steelcase store that wants $1000 US for a leap chair. You can get them for ~$500 online.. can you ship things here reliably?

Yes, and they stole our security deposit for no legitimate reason. I thought about pursuing legal action but I think dealing with the bureaucracy in Argentina would be very -EV. The two owners (Martin and Ignacio) are shameless thieves.

So I bought a claro sim card (I brought a gsm phone with me). Card works fine and my phone is unlocked, etc-- but I need to get it activated and I have no clue how to do it. I've tried *611 which gets me into the claro customer service but don't know enough spanish to be able to follow the prompts very well and can't seem to get an actual person on the other end. any help would be appreciated

*ok- got it activated but i'm pretty sure that the number I was given was not a valid #!?

Hey, I've been looking through some of the old posts for a restaurant that may have been visited more than once by the old dining club. I can't find it or remember anything about its name. I never went but I remember Loz Colbert saying something along the lines of him being tempted to pick the restaurant two weeks in a row. Also, everyone else that I talked to stated that it was a great restaurant. If I recall correctly the menu might have been standard Argentine meats and stuff but from the photos I saw, it didn't have the look of a standard parilla. Sorry, I guess that could be a lot of different ones but any hints or advice would be appreciated.

i remember you saying that it was your favorite steak up to that point. i've liked quite a few of their appetizers. i remember the rabbit was good but not enough meat for my tastes. the bondiola is listed as their specialty on guiaoleo. i've had it and thought it was amazing, other times just good.

come to think of it, i haven't been exploring enough new restaurants recently.

Yeah it was the best, and by the end it was definitely in the top 3 for value. If you splurge you can find better of course, but I have a certain satisfaction in eating something which is cheaper than what it should be, like when you buy heavily discounted but still stylish clothes

I've heard great things about Cabrera and Siga La Vaca. Anyone have any thoughts about those or any other particuarly standout restaurants? In general, the 200 peso places are a bit out of my price range, but I'm ok with splurging every once in a while.

Booked my ticket, August 18th. I'll only be there til the 28th, main purpose of the visit to check up with a couple friends and try to find a good apartment/neighborhood for mid-October (when I'll be moving to BA for 3 months or so).

Look forward to meeting you guys and doing the dinner club at least once.
