If it is, they missed the point I was making, I'm no big Spielberg sucker, but I recognize his ability to convey a story, whether I like it is another thing.
The way films changed from Jaws being filmed the way it was, as opposed to how it was intended, just struck me as interesting, Spielberg changed what he originally wanted in the film, and it made it more successful, he readily admits that, and he mentions how it changed his career.
He owes alot of his success to a broken shark.
Gave him final say on most of his movies, got many of them made in the first place.
So to just assume I was bagging on his ability, is not the point.
He could still have been successful, but maybe more as a TV director, or as an action director, much like Michael Bay, who actually worked for him.
But he helped usher in the era of blockbusters, and made some of the most prestigious and memorable films of his generation.
Maybe some weren't the best, IMO but still can't deny their effect.
I don't know what the others problems were, I just was focusing on how problems in film-making sometimes are blessings and wondering aloud on here.
