Yep! I did this online survey thing where you filled out surveys and got credit for gift cards (hello self-selection!!) Anyways, I wanted to get a new Starbucks Thermos since my old one was lost - but I didn't want to pay for it. So, I surveyed until I got my gift card and then quit the thing. (That, my friends, is called back-story. (Technically "unnecessary back-story".))
Anywhom - I was sent a survey with the basic plot and plan to open on Valentine's Day. My response included a gentle WTF about opening on a day when RomComs rule. (Well, maybe not that gentle. I like surveys without consequences. Hey - don't we get to do surveys on the Dean & VP?.....)
So I ripped apart the story, plot, setting, marketing etc. Looks like I wasn't so far off of the mark. Maybe this balances the scales from the last time I was surveyed at a mall before "Pretty Woman" came out - said I couldn't see people going for a story about a hooker with a heart of gold. Who knew?
