I liked Sucker Punch too, it does fall during the non battle scenes and the last battle scene has A LOT of slo-mo but there are some great scenes.
The Watchmen is 90% tone and 10% plot. Snyder's film is 99% plot and 1% tone. He totally missed the point. Nearly every tonal point from the novel is totally missed in the film, or often reversed. It's as if Snyder has never heard of metaphor or subtext.
I would bet he thinks "two roads diverged in a yellow wood" refers to two actual roads!
His use of Hallelujah might be the single worst use of music in film history. It's a song about a biblical traitor. Snyder thinks its about yelling "oh god" at climax.
