That's pretty funny.

Am I the only one who think Harmony Korine is a talentless jackoff?

I enjoyed it even if some of the theories are completely ridiculous.

Tyrannosaur

Olivia Colman and Petter Mullan put in great performances in this story of two dysfunctional alcoholics reaching across a class divide to form a friendship. I think the best thing I can say about their performances is that I didn't notice them until afterwards, I was too involved in the story.

No! I'm not going to watch it...I want to go in completely fresh.

But the temptation is killing me.

Surprise surprise the new GI JOE is a flaming pile of turd.

I quite enjoyed The Croods, that was a shocker. I laughed a lot and was genuinely moved at a few scenes. I'd love to see Cage do more voice performances, he goes all Nicolas Cage on our asses!

Watched Somebody up there likes me and it was surprisingly good. It's a bit strange and the main character is doing a good job. Sometimes it feels like the budget is really small, as it probably was.

Watched Jack the Giant Slayer because I was at the mercy of the Chinese movie theatre's English selection. It was pretty bad, but still kept me entertained throughout. Amazing how just about every joke fell flat to the Chinese audience.

Saw The Magnificent Seven for the first time, which is a bit surprising as Seven Samurai is one of my favorite films and I've watched it at least five times. Magnificent Seven isn't nearly as good. I think a major problem with the movie is that it uses guns instead of swords. I understand that using guns well requires a lot of dedication/skill but it doesn't film well in comparison to the samurai's martial prowess. Also this loses out on several major themes in Seven Samurai such as when (arguably) the most talented samurai is killed by a stray bullet. This one scene packs so many themes into it: the death of the samurai culture, the rapid advance of technology, dumb luck bringing down skill and dedication.

I also thought Seven Samurai had much better and more defined characters, although that's bound to happen when it runs over an hour longer. Still it's such a large story with so many characters that it deserves that much screen time. I think the American version would have done better to cut down the characters and focus on them if they are going to cut an hour out of the film.

It was an entertaining watch, but certainly not the classic that Seven Samurai is. Wouldn't watch it again or recommend it.

Watched The Fragile staring Clalista Flockhart, directed by the same guy who did [*REC]. Very well done, in my opinion, though if you are a slash-and-dash horror fan, you may find it a bit slow. It is a tad slower paced and more psychological, but it had a powerful punch to it. I didn't jump out of my seat, but I was well-absorbed into the movie.

The real surprise was how well Flockhart did in this film. Despite being someone who is normally a TV personality and generally boring to watch, she did a phenomenal job in this role measure.

I went on a Korean movie binge. Action, comedy, romance, thriller, I can't stop watching them. I'm extremely impressed with almost everything about them. The storylines, the directing, the cinemtography, the acting, everything. I love how small the korean film industry still is (even though its getting huge), I get to see many of the same actors/ directors work together over and over again which is incredible, I love it. There's so many references to other films in each of the movies which is also a bonus.

I mean wow, I'm moved. I'm inspired. I want to help lol but i have no idea how. If there was any way I could move to South Korea and get some itty bitty tiny part in the production process I'd do it.
