This is a really weird film. It is a mix of animation, historic footage, and survivors recounting their experience.
The animation was sort of distracting to me. The voices of the characters seemed to be a mix of the actual person telling their story and actors reading from prior interviews of people (no longer living) that had been there.
The actual footage was riveting but there just wasn't enough of it (I'm guessing) to tell the story from all of the perspectives that they chose to tell.
Towards the end, they shifted to real interviews of some of the people, which I found much more interesting.
I don't think this was necessarily a top notch documentary but it was definitely worth a watch. I knew the story well (see below) and I had seen almost all of the footage, but I'm guessing if you don't know much about it you would find it pretty interesting.
I found it especially interesting because I lived it somewhat. My father was teaching at UT at the time, and on campus, and I remember my mother listening to the events on the radio. She was really upset not knowing what was going on.
I thought tower was excellent, really engrossing.
I dunno how ppl can narrow down a top 5 list.
I don't think I could narrow down a top 15 list honestly.
so many movies that are my "favorite".
