I was joking with my daughter about this just last night, when the girl not only takes off her glasses, BUT ALSO lets down her hair. THEN she's hot.

She took her hair out of a pony tail, shook her head a little, and it looked like some combination of a witch and a lion's mane.

We've a mystery to solve. Let's go find out everything on the internet including a handy uploaded vid from a previous victim.

Villain holding a match/lighter over pool of gasoline doing a monologue & not bursting into flames due to the fumes.

Drivers never watching the road, turning around to give their passenger long meaningful stares & never running anyone over in the process/crashing.

Chicks getting outa bed all made up with perfect hair & not a bit puffy eyed.

Well I'll be damned. I remember the Rick Moranis/Dave Thomas commercials, but had no idea they were reprising their roles from a movie.

Strange Brew is a classic, but those roles started as a bit on SCTV. SCTV was truly awesome.

I would like to see a movie where a repressed guy meets a free thinking wanderer and manages to convince him to conform to social norms regardless of the effect on his personal wellbeing

City of Industry came on last night. Made me think of this thread.

Obvious foreshadowing
Harvey Keitel checks into a dump motel. As he walks across the parking to his room, the camera continues to pan, ending on the propane tank just outside. Of course, that explodes in the shootout later, killing all the bad guys.

...and no tricks!
When the bad guy is arranging to meet up with the hero to exchange the money/drugs/hostage/whatever, and says "...and no tricks!" just before hanging up the phone.

Unexpected token to show hero's alive
Harvey Keitel disappears from the ER entrance after being shot. At the end, Famke Janssen gets the mail, opens a letter, and finds a medallion, a sign that Harvey made it ok.

Despite all the badness, I rather enjoy this movie. One I always watch a few minutes of when I find it's on. Pretty much true of anything with Harvey Keitel, I guess.

During a fight scene, the hero is losing and pinned to the ground, trying desperately to grab a weapon that's just out of reach. Almost always goes longer than necessary, too many cuts back and forth between the weapon and the struggling hero.

Hero is in a rush to get somewhere or escape from something and jumps in an unlocked vehicle, and finds the keys under the sun visor. I would bet that less than one in a million vehicles in North America currently have a key stashed in that location.

Murder mysteries where it is obvious that the victim was not the intended target, but “Gasp” it turns out that they WERE the intended target.

Apparently it is not possible for a villain to listen to classical music without tilting his head back and closing his eyes.

Someone gets shot, fake out death. Then they (or someone else) make a big show of unbuttoning their shirt to reveal the bullet proof vest underneath.

What are some more?
The call is coming from INSIDE the house!
[I'd add any old horror cliche, one reason I rarely watch them]

The serial killer who is only seen from behind in a hoodie/ballcap, or never actually seen up close just walking behind their victims in the dark is....a woman!

The mole in the spy movie has been the boss all along.

Shootouts/standoffs where everyone dies at the end but the hero. Like, nobody else limps off with a shoulder wound or glancing scalp hit?

The girl who just needs her hair done, contacts, and a nice dress to look amazing.

The hooker with a heart of gold.

The driver in a bank heist who is shocked, shocked to find out there ended up being shots fired inside.

The profiler is as crazy as the killers he's trying to catch.

All the female bonding/comedies with the heroine, the funny/overweight girl, the shallow pretty one and the uptight rich one.

Any sophisticated bomb that can be defused by: cutting a wire, resetting the clock, taking the batteries out.

Any bank manager who is told, 'If you push the alarm, I'll shoot you,' followed by him pushing the alarm and getting shot in the face.

Meet me at the clock in Grand Central Station/top of ESB.

The heist expert who barely agrees to do...just one last job....with people he doesn't know. Shouldn't he be loaded with riches if he's an incredibly great thief?

Followed by the gang's leader telling his crew, 'We'll kill him after and keep his share of the loot."

Any existence of an evil/good twin as a deus ex machina. Does not apply to The
Spoiler:
Prestige

The country's nuclear codes being easily obtainable through some simple ruse.
