You've just managed to destroy the entire Japanese television industry.

1. whenever there is a scene at night. Someone entering their own home....a murderer etc waiting inside for them hiding.....and the house owner walks in and walks around the house putting the coat away etc and never turning on a light - is it electric that pricey

2. Someone being chased by kidnappers/murderers they're in a busy shopping 'mall' or town centre and they run to the nearest darkest alleyway so no one can witness them being kidnapped/murdered or help.

3. People making people hot drinks tea coffee etc and the cup/mug never has any more than 1/4 full by the way they take sips from it.....

Something that grunches me also when people go for lunch /dinner have 2 bites and leave the rest of the food.

There's a phone call between two people, often under friendly circumstances. The person hanging up does so without any kind of warning they're about to hang up or formal goodbye.

programmers decide to spend a massive amount of time creating incredible visual effects to show off the progress of the underlying code so when Janice happens to walk past to get to the water cooler she sees lots of stuff happening

some pretty fun sites to visit if you ever have someone prying on your laptop screen at a coffee shop that embrace the cliche

Lol, this is why I can't watch Ray Donovan.

If someone is staying in a motel, the tv will be playing some western from the 50s. This is normally to drown out the sounds of real gunshots, because obviously nobody can tell the difference.

If someone wakes up from a nightmare, they instantly sit straight up, gasping and dripping with sweat, instead of just rolling over and going back to sleep like a normal person.

Crying little kid in bed at 3am only needs a glass of water and pat on the head to go back to sleep.

The successful hitman after a job is surprised to find out his boss 'wants to tie up loose ends.'

Money laundering means having one extra account with a topsecret coded password and then somehow the Gov't can never find it or access it. But some mid-level acc't they hire can figure it out!

Hot woman dates rich guy and finds out relationships based on $$$ don't work well.

After a hookup, partner 1 makes partner 2 coffee even tho they met at a loud bar last night and have no idea if they can drink coffee/caffeine.

Following some work or personal conundrum in the life for the parent to deal with and tucking in the kid results that the parent then stares off in the distance thinking about how they are going to resolve such problems. And usually it is done to give some screen time to the child to make sure they get credit for the episode because it is their only time on there.

The movie character knows an explosion is going to occur and turns and nonchalantly walks away from it facing the camera without looking back to be "cool".

Why would you not want to watch an explosion?

Good query!

I'd be afraid of shrapnel in the eyes unless at a safe distance.

Martial arts flicks - when the lone hero shows their awesome skills by fighting loads of bad guys at the same time. "Stab him in the back! Why are you just standing there waiting your turn? All of you hit him from behind you idiots... oh fine, attack one at a time and get yourself killed, see if I care".

ANY 'flick' that uses Martial Arts as a basis for action sequences...

as soon as I see some protagonist do a spinney twirly maneuver before striking a bad guy game sprite, I turn and walk out of the theater.

I blame the Writers...

I'm going to reverse course a bit, as I just heard someone complain about characters in horror movies being so stupid for the millionth time. People have been throwing this out for decades. And obviously it is true in some cases.

But the characters do not know they are in a horror movie!

For the most part, the idea of the horror movie is that impossible things happen in normal settings. That's the whole point. It's perfectly natural that the characters do not think the house is haunted, or that the serial killer is undead, and survived 25 gunshots.

I was staying in a hotel; a high-end one that had soft-opened, and there were so many problems my gf and I were literally wondering if we were in a horror film.
For instance, when taking a shower, the cold water would vanish and you would get only very hot water. Ouch!
Unexplained noises, etc.

OTOH, if everyone around you is getting slashed to death, or burned alive, or hanged, maybe leave town? Just a thought. And don't drive to a graveyard first to hide.

oooh, I got a good one: people getting out of the pool or the shower and then putting on a robe without first drying off.
