Saw Terminator Salv tonite, it was full of them

1. Robots only make noise when u see them, literally a 50 foot tall robot snuck up on people to snatch them.

2. Bad guy turns Good guy turns bad guy turns good guy has to die at the end, because he was bad once, for redemption.

3. Hero injured in clearly mortal way, hangs on to live several hours to find a hospital.

4. Skynet finally gets John Connor, sends a Terminator who forgot to bring a gun.

5. I blew that bad guy up, no need to doublecheck, bad guy promptly starts shooting again.

6. Mean heartless boss gets killed by villain.

And many more, if the stupid film wasnt filled with cliches I could have given it a B. I liked the overall plot idea, I just hated all the stupid cliches. And seriously no one died who we were even remotely attached too. The Terminators never hit anything smaller than a car the whole movie.

Sorry I didnt know people went to crappy action films expecting plot twists. Exactly what did I spoil that doesnt happen in every terminator film really? Plus everything I wrote was foreshadowed clearly within 5 minutes.

this one drives me crazy:

the phone rings. And rings. And rings. Hero finally wakes up or walks into the room to answer it - but does he ever just pick up the damn phone? No, he moves the phone around - still ringing - until he gets comfortable enough in his seat or whatever to FINALLY answer it! It's only rank like 15 or 16 times already and I'm mentally thinking, "pick up! Whoever it is on the other end is gonna hang up! Pick up!!!!"

God, I hate that.

No one in a movie has a dorky ringtone. They all have a polytonic that sounds like the real thing. I wish I had one.

God this happened exactly as so in some movie I saw about 5 years ago. The kid was a fat black kid who kept yelling at his mom from his bedroom. I think he was also drinking from a 7-11 fountain drink of course. What movie was this?

Everyone knows the one how the news story about the characters is always immediately on the TV or radio as soon as they turn it on. That doesn't even bug me so much, because it's understandable for the sake of narrative.

What drives me nuts is when they turn OFF the TV or radio in the middle of the story (after the essential information has been relayed). Wouldn't you at least wait a minute and watch or listen to the entire segment if it were totally ABOUT you?

1) Whack a guy in the back of the head and it knocks him out every time.

2) Nobody says "Goodbye" during a phone call. They just hang up.

3) TV remotes all make a click noise when you push a button

4) One that has always bothered me... hero saves girl but girl's friend/family/significant other/whatever gets killed along the way. Girl is sad for about 10 seconds in the next scene then afterward just has it all together again.

lol. Actually I don't know if I was thinking of Transformers. It seems like it was a film from like 5 years ago. But like you said, it's a cliche so it probably has happened a lot.

Saving someone falling off a cliff/building etc. with one hand and then singlehandedly getting them back up in 5 seconds, when they should have been pulled over the edge with them. This bothers me every single time.

It doesn't matter what phone they use, because the post-production people put in the sound effects later. And they love the series-20 nokia ringtones. "Low" is a particular favorite.

Whenever someone or something is in a free fall, and you view it from a distance, they always fall way faster than terminal velocity. Not that I necessarilly know exactly what this rate looks like, but I can tell the films always over-dramatize how fast stuff falls. Actually I remember seeing old videos of 9/11 and you could see what it actually looks like when someone falls at terminal velocity. But even before these youtube videos came out I knew movies always embellished it.

One example of this is when the rocks start falling near the pirate ship in Goonies. Way too fast. Also, any movie that shows someone fall from a building.

To add to that, it always takes 2 minutes for the person to fall 100 feet.

How about the musical montage of the character(s) trying on different clothes? Usually starting out shy and self-conscious but becoming happy and confident by the end of the wardrobe session...can we bury that scene once and for all please?

One that kills me is when people randomly burst into song to accent an emotional point of the movie. In Armageddon, just before they take off to the Russian space station, Affleck busts out "Leaving on a Jet Plane", and just like the slow clap, everybody else slowly joins in because they're LEAVING ON A JET PLANE GET IT?

The only time I've seen this work is during Almost Famous, when everybody on the bus, near the end of the film, sings Tiny Dancer; and that's only because of the film, then transitions into music that the characters can hear, which gives a plausible reason why somebody would start singing because they're singing along with the radio rather than spontaneously.
