Mostly just echoing what others have said, but man, The Witch was outstanding.

Seen Green Room and was pretty impressed with it.
Also seen Regression with Ethan Hawk which I wasn't overtly keen on due to its engaging in innocence fraud. Well made though and from the same guy who gave us the decent 90s Spanish shocker Thesis.

I'm not getting the love for The Witch, I thought it was one of the worst films I've seen - horror or otherwise - for a long time.

Watched It Follows last week and loved it. The overall creepiness of the film was great and I like horror that leaves a bit to the imagination (ie what actually is 'It' and what does it want?)

Also finally caught 28 Days Later which I thought was decent but fell apart a bit in the second half - weirdly some of the stuff the army guys got up to (dialogue, actions etc) was less believable than the zombies.

Ah yeah I forgot I'd watched the Green Inferno recently too. I enjoyed it but it wasn't great. One of those films where I didn't really find anything to hate about it, but nothing to love about it at the same time.

Saw Antichrist over the weekend (not fully Horror, but thought it was close enough to put in here). Plot was a bit meh, but visually it was outstanding and I found it to be pretty creepy overall. Curious what others thought.

I saw Lights Out last weekend due to the overall pretty good reviews. It's definitely on a tier below the last horror film I saw in theatres (Conjuring 2), but still a decent horror film with a fairly simple premise.

Upon reflecting, however, I found the ending to be extremely messed up. Ending in spoilers below

Spoiler:
It was mentioned multiple times throughout the movie that (A) Diana is attached to the mom; and (B) if the mom "got better", then Diana would go away. The movie ends on a really bleak note with the mom committing suicide to "save" her family, rather than taking medication. Granted, the medication route was made difficult because of Diana, but not impossible. Not a very good message for anyone out there who might be suffering from mental illness.

Watched Creep yesterday. Thought it was weird and pretty dumb, more funny than any kind of tense, building horror flick. Ending was totally predictable too. Would not recommend.

Watched The Honeymoon a few days back. VERY slow burn, acting was not that good either, and the payoff was kind of meh at the end. Not worth the 90 minutes invested.

something about green room doesnt feel horror. more like thriller with brutal parts.
to make it horror, something supernatural or way more brutal is missing.

i know a lot of you hate found-footage. i'm a huge ff fan.
can anybody recommend me 1-2 of his underrated found footage gems?
thanks.

Found footage is my favorite genre. Other than the ones listed in the previous post id watch as above so below if you haven't yet, but you probably have since its a more mainstream found footage movie. Its one of my favorites though.

Atticus Institute is a good lesser known one

The Tunnel is good

Unfriended was a lot better than I expected, def pretty solid and a unique style

Lol...Please no! My short "review" on this piece of ****.

A whiny, trashy, ridiculous movie that is predictable and laughable throughout. The script is so badly written i feel my dog could do better. Definitely targeted at teenagers who probably won't notice how bad this is.

The acting is terrible.

By the end i was praying for the whiny bitch to die. At least i got my wish.

Watched Bone Tomahawk on vacation. Honestly didn't think it was that good. Thought the acting was pretty awful overall and the story was really not that compelling to me. Yes the one scene was difficult but not to the degree where it made me flinch or anything. After the reviews on here, i was dissapointed.

VHS 1 and VHS 2 have some terrific FF shorts. "Safe Haven" in VHS2 is the best horror short I've ever seen. I'll second Unfriended. Afflicted isn't classic FF, it's more POV, it's great.

See, this is exactly why Unfriended is an underrated gem

Excited to go see Don't Breathe this weekend. Looks to be pretty solid. Counting Lights Out that's two fairly mainstream horror movies in short succession with high rotten tomatoes scores, not bad. Hopefully they keep cranking out good horror movies.

Speaking of which, the trailer for Rings came out today but it's 2.5 minutes long so I'm not even gonna bother watching because it probably spoils the entire movie. I'm not really expecting good things out of this one to be honest =\. The original movie(s) (Ringu and The Ring) were classics.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic...a gem? lol.

If you are being serious, i just don't understand why.

The style was ridiculously boring, watching people type on their computer ffs.

The acting was deplorable. I seriously considered acting after watching this.

The story was straightforward and outright laughable.

Also a horror is meant to be at least a little bit scary - this wasn't in the slightest.

I actually don't have a single good thing to say about this one.
