The 80s version did it better

I was really excited to see this film as Pet Sematary was the first horror book I ever remember reading back when I was about 13 so I have an affinity with it. Then I realised we're in 2019 and Hollywood sucks so it was probably going to just be a **** remake for the masses and decided not to bother seeing it to avoid the disappointment.
Watched
The Silence on Netflix. It's pretty much an identical setup to A Quiet Place, but this one is actually affiliated with the novel of the same name (still not sure how A Quiet Place got away with basically stealing the entire premise and plot). The lower budget appealed to me more and it was more of a slow burn than A Quiet Place, but I just felt they didn't delve deep enough into any part of the movie enough, didn't build the tension or explore the more interesting parts of the plot enough, and the ending came too suddenly. I feel it would have worked sooo much better as a series. 6.5/10

The Battery on Shudder. It's a low-budget zombie movie following two survivors who are kinda friends who don't really like each other but are forced to stick together. I was a bit distracted during the film so wasn't paying it full attention, but it seemed dull as hell, completely uninteresting, and I turned it off before the end. 2/10 (would be a 1 but I wasn't watching it fully so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt).
