Also whilst on 2022, one of the better horror-comedies that have come out of this year is The Blackening aka 'We can't all die first', a slasher/Saw sort of movie with a mostly black cast. really good cast and writing. I laughed out loud quite a few times at both the characters and some great lines, and this is not an out-and-out comedy.

I still haven't seen The Blackening but keep meaning to check it out, I always confuse it with Meet The Blacks. Thanks for the heads up on You Won't Be Alone, I always have my eye out for foreign horror, last good ones I seen were The Trip, Incantation (which for netflix films were actually really good) and The Sadness from Taiwan, which rips a few other films off but is still an entertaining gorefest.

BTW, I did the movies alphabetically, so you can find You Won't Be Alone nearer the end. Or use that knowledge to find movies you want to listen about (so the Blackening is near the start). We did actually talk the most about Candy Land, IIRR, at least 10 minutes.

Other recent ones I enjoyed were When Evil Lurks, Smile, Talk to Me, Fresh and Venus. I also had an absolute blast with Malignant, although it's a polarising film but I thought it was awesome fun and a great homage to those batshit nuts Italian horrors of the 70s/80s.

I really liked Talk To Me. It really stayed with me: for the rest of the night I had a creepy feeling, which is pretty unusual for me.

I wanted to see Malignant when it came out, but I didn't get to the theater in time and then forgot about it. Need to check it out.

Malignant is absolutely nuts and I reckon it could go either way with anyone watching it. I personally loved it but would completely understand if others thought it sucked, so again could go either way with you. If you're in any way familiar with Italian horror, then you should have fun with it.

The Coffee Table (2022) This is a Spanish horror-comedy film that has gotten some good reviews. Horror master Stephen King recently said of the pitch-black tragicomedy, “My guess is you have never, not once in your whole life, seen a movie as black as this one. It’s horrible and also horribly funny.” I found that the comedy moments were actually funny to me. Unfortunately they made the horror moments especially disturbing, not in good way. Don't let this film's innocuous title fool you. Do not watch.
