Thanks! Although I'm not even close to contributing as much as Corpus does!
A couple from this weekend:
Veronica - Saw a bunch of stories online about this being one of the scariest horror movies ever so had to give it a go. It's a Spanish film based around true events, following a girl who messes around with a ouija board and ends up bringing a demonic spirit through into her life. Obviously going into the film with high hopes from the reviews, I was unsurprisingly disappointed. It wasn't terrible by any means, and was quite a fun watch. It was well made, without relying on too many overly dramatic and unrealistic scenes, and was a little creepy in parts. The major let down for me though was that there just wasn't really a storyline - it was literally just "girl invites evil spirit through ouija board - spirit haunts girl a bit more every day until **** goes down". No imagination really, but nothing offensively bad either.

Villmark Asylum - Norweigan film following a group of decontamination specialists tasked with the job of checking and cleaning up hazardous waste in an abandoned, remote, mountaintop asylum. Of course it's not as abandoned as they thought.... The setting immediately hooked me with this one - I love old medical/asylum type stuff. Thinking about the ****ed up experiments they used to do and the crazy equipment they had is creepy as hell. The film managed to hold a really good level of tension throughout despite having very few jump scares and a general lack of ott 'Hollywood' scenes. Well worth a watch.

I'm just about on track with my new years resolution to watch 52 horror films in 2018. Need to work on my scoring system a bit though - despite watching some dross, I haven't scored a film below a 5, and there's not enough room to separate out the 7-9 type films.
If you ever have 5-20 minutes to spare, I recommend checking out World of Death on the Bloody Disgusting YouTube channel. They add 2 short films every week. They're generally amateur but well made, and massively range in quality, but still usually an entertaining way to pass a bit of time.
