didnt feel like searching for a guitar thread so here you go.

is that you playing?
12-29-2018 , 01:31 PM
yes.

There ought to be a thread where all the musicians in The Lounge can share their music. I just don't know if that's a good idea since there aren't very many...

Regarding your recording, you have a nice sense of rhythm, but the guitar sounds out of tune.

my ear isn't good enough to tune this 12 string I found in the basement of the house I'm at for the weekend. My hands had a tough time keeping up with my brain because I haven't been playing lately, but I always say that **** ups are the root of true improvisation.

Those that can, do. Those that can't, improvise. All human progress is based on incompetence.

found that the A strings were flat and had another go at it.

Somewhat by chance, I visited an Anni Albers exhibition today, which I enjoyed. Some people find their vocation, like riding a wave.

I don't trust art galleries. Too middle-class.

Bob148, there are free tuning apps.

I'm listening to Juliana Hatfield's cover album of Olivia Newton-John songs. I think Dom would like it.

old habits die hard. I don't really mind if its a little sharp or flat, just that the notes make sense relative to each other. At home I use the piano to tune my guitars. Like I told my little cousin that was having a moment due to an art project that wasn't just right, "art is never perfect."

Some art, so called, is worthwhile and the middle class need feeding to keep them docile. This ties directly into Olivia Newton John songs.

I'm off for dinner, fresh fish I think. Straight from the Ionian Sea.

I'm docile. Hey, what's that mean?
12-29-2018 , 04:00 PM
It means what it is.

You think right. Never understood why Juliana Hatfield never became a big star.

The second recording is much better.

I was trying to think of a good joke, but after 20+ years of that drama, there is nothing I can say.

I don't think it was "just another night". Old acquaintances, new acquaintances, some brewski swilling, music, generosity and maybe some things to look forward to. Merry belated Xmas!

Yeah, I'm looking forward to April, when someone will ask me if I can invite said girl to their Easter gathering.

Merry belated Xmas to you as well.
