A couple holes in Maine. Played last summer:

Lol it’s a fun hole. Second shot provides very little hints of landing areas and pin placement. All you can see is a huge deep bunker to the right and a small strip of grassy entrance to the left. Retrospect shows a huge bank behind the 25 yard deep green, benefiting a confident shot up the hill as long is safe. The trick is to note pin placement when passing by the green on the way to the 12th tee.

Also I mapped the greens with the help of an app.

i used to go to maine fishing about 50 years ago. loved it except for the no see-ums.

after being in the pacific north west, maine seems very drab and ordinary now for beauty.
the coast would be pretty.
no reason for me to ever go back to the northeast. florida good for the weather.

Ray, quick poker question if you don’t mind, in hold’em I don’t think that there is anything other than the obvious uncounterfeitable straight flush that can be guaranteed to be the winner by the river regardless of your hole cards and the flop, is this correct?

Reflections on marriage.

The best Who version. Explains Keith Moon as the dominant drummer of his cohort.

a higher straight flush could be possible.

Once lost a hand like that....in a room with no bad beat jackpot. Truly, a bad beat.

Hi Dominic, since you have been so kind I will not dedicate “Not ready to make nice “ to you.I once hit quads on the turn and thought “ That seals it” , of course it made my opponent a straight flush.
06-24-2020 , 04:45 PM
Last december I flopped quads on a QQJ board and lost to both quad kings and a straight flush. People were looking at me to see if I go ballistic and I was like, Yeah yeah yeah it's 1-2 plo.

if you can use your hole cards in this question there are lots of hands you can have that are a cinch on the river. from trips and higher to some that are a cinch to win or split.

say four of a kind on board, you have an ace. win or split.
four of a kind with an ace on board. split.
3 aces with an ace,k,9,7,3 is the nuts.

as far as a cinch on the flop certain straight flushes are un beatable

I flopped top set years back at Stars holding Aces. I was super nitty, the flop was something close to A35

On this occasion I was right to be concerned about slow playing because my opponent had 44, which improved to quads by the river lmao

played prolly a million hands on Stars, 24-tabling, and suffered flopped-top-set losing to runner runner quads 3 or 4 times.

Another time playing Omaha, holding KKQJ versus JJ88 on a KJ4 flop

I seem to have caused this thread to become a bad beat thread, I now understand why I am so disliked

I have bad beat stories, but not about poker.

yeah, let's get back to golf-talk

Anybody have plans for the summer? I sure as hell don't.
06-24-2020 , 11:39 PM
I've got a video of myself hitting a drive from last Thursday's outing. You guys wanna see it?... the video quality from a distance is poor, but when things are closer in the frame - like my lardass that rivals rebel for the obesity-crown - things are unfortunately clearer.

you can still discern that my swing is pure class, even with the abbreviated back-swing.

lmao, someone is employed to close-caption that. I sure didn't do it

err I guess they are auto-generated. far out

Eating well, drinking well, hiking, gardening, reading good books, shooting, fishing, Repairing and upgrading my house and land, and spitting on the sidewalk when in town. Also: Not Watching any TV news, but lots of sports, when available.

By the way, it looks like a short baseball season will happen!

I'm working and golfing. That is the plan.

My Covid anxiety is essentially gone. I have Type O negative blood, and type O negative or positive is like 9 to 18% more resistant to the virus. Cannot even fathom how blood-type plays a role in this, but it apparently does. Also, I'm a plumber, so my immune sytsem is already armor-plated

I haven't played golf yet. Soon, though. Will attempt to prepare for all online classes in the fall.

Sir, this is your best post yet. Well done.

Lowlife layabouts untie!!

Nice fluid swing schlitz.

8 days in a row no golf ends Sunday. I have a minor swing change that I’m implementing during my retreat in the country side.

I fully expect more consistent ball striking and massive distance gain.

All my planned trips have been cancelled with no thoughts at all of an impromptu get away until we have a better handle on what's happening which means next year.

I hike and bike the forest preserve trails by my house daily. Lots of deer this year! I have probably seen about 25 already since the weather became good. Other than I that I am sheltering in place and trying to sun and read out on the deck for at least an hour a day. Getting a pretty solid tan

I've been going to my good friends' campground every weekend for the past ~2 months and it's been a godsend. Spending this one at home, as downtown is now almost fully open. Pretty pretty pretty pretty pumped.

Make the best of it, all!

If anyone dares to tell me off about my use of innuendo I will just quote this post
