After a few days working in Modesto one of the guys turned round and said “Anywhere in this godammed town we can find some ****ing strippers”

This went down surprisingly well with my friends
Do you remember how heart wrenchingly lovely Jane’s raucous laugh was

My granddaughter was laughing so hard when I told her I craved cake, she just had to bake one for me. From scratch (with the daughter's slight supervision).

So, I went to the store today. There were few people and even less food.

Then tried buying online. I complete my order, try to checkout, and there is no delivery.

Then I went to Whole Foods / Amazon and boom. Most everything I wanted wasn't there and most everything I ordered wasn't able to be delivered after the fact.

:/

you snooze you lose'
you had more than a month to know that stuff would be getting scarce every day more and more.
you live in a big city where there is no one to take care of you but yourself.

big news!!!!! you may have to eat what you dont want

The shelves were full on a Monday and completely empty on a Tuesday. If you don't know, this virus passes between people. The sudden rush of people in one small place was definitely not something I was going to risk for myself. I could only imagine how many people ended up getting sick from this thing because of they were part of that massive crush of bodies.

I've been focusing much more on eating takeout. I value the local economy where I am, and I don't want to see our local businesses collapse. I'm, at best, offsetting the expenses, but doing something to help people keep their job feels socially responsible to me.

Unfortunately, I get brutally sick if I eat anything beyond a collection of 20 foods. Weakening my body when something is lurking in the air would not be a smart move. Being forced to eat "what I don't want" is a serious catch-22 for some people. I do wish I could buy a tall stack of Chef Boy R D and hide out, but unfortunately, I don't have that luxury.

It's pretty scary to be around even 100 people in a store, much less 2,000 people who aren't wearing masks and aren't acknowledging any social distancing. There are lines in front of Whole Foods and Ralph's that go half way around the block. It's absolutely crazy, and this is only going to hasten the explosion of cases here in La La Land.

My take on the Music wars
The Yanks started it by deploying the beach boys
The brits ,under heavy pressure managed to develop the Kinks
There was a side battle between Elvises which remains unresolved
The deployment of Stevie wonder was a major escalation, countered by the brits by Kate Bush
A small skirmish between the Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen resulted in few casualties
The whole thing only calmed down when everyone realised “ oh **** what if The Beatles happen”

The Beatles redone for the modern age

england won the war on rock and roll quality during that period in time. in fact they blew us away.

Stevie Wonder vs. Kate Bush?
03-27-2020 , 11:52 AM
This is why music is such a mind flip.
You start confidently with

Then unexpectedly come across
wherein Kate goes nuclear by mentioning putting things between her breasts
Trying to calm your mind you decide that “I say a little prayer “ is the finest moment in popular music.
You then get blindsided by “My baby only cares for me”
At this point thoughts of Marvin Gaye, Freddie Mercury and so on start to intervene
The battle for sanity has been lost

Quick question.
Why do men find the sight of women arching their backs so arousing?
Initial thoughts are that it proves that they are capable of childbirth.
Any more ideas?

Well, I suppose you can’t really “go out” drinking this Friday, but don’t neglect your liver. A pickled liver is a sure preventative for many diseases. I can suck up whiskey, beer and wine on my back patio; by my bonfire; whilst hiking in the hills or beach. Life is good. Live It.

Zeno, you're a bright light through all this blight. I have been invited to drink tonight virtually with a bunch of women from California. I have bourbon, wine, and champagne ready to go.

The local beer store was closed for 2 weeks. They ended up reopening the other day.

Hooray!

I'm going with gin tonight. I usually don't hit the gin until it gets warmer out, but who has that kind of time?

I am distancing. Virtual department meeting today, Snapchats, and a couple phone calls. That's it.

Had a conference call today concerning my 45th anniversary college reunion trip to Germany/Austria I was supposed to go on this July. As expected it has been cancelled. We are hopeful we can redo do it for the summer of 21 or 22 but I have my doubts. It was hard enough getting people committed to this one.

One of the highlights of the trip was to be seeing the Passion Play at Oberammergau which only happens every 10 years. The 2020 performance has already been cancelled and rescheduled for 2022. That is the only the second time it has postponed in 400 years. Personally I don't give a **** about the Passion Play and just wanted to spend a couple of weeks with my old college friends reliving our 1975 Germany trip.

So it may or may not come off in the next 2 years but I have my doubts.

Further proof of my theory that people who don’t understand that human beings are wonderful need a big kick up the arse

Joan Armatrading was being interviewed just before she started a tour where she was was going to perform solo
With an obvious reference to “Love and affection “ the interviewer asked “ Who is going to perform the “Woo-woos”
“Me, but only one ‘cos I will be busy singing the rest of the stuff “
