Lounge LC Thread: Spring To Life, Everybody!! Lounge LC Thread: Spring To Life, Everybody!!

what is this?? Why is it in our thread? I've been a Lounge stalwart for over 15 years, and this guy doing his stream of consciousness shtick is making me want to stop showing up.

I'm tired of it.

Let me explain. You've kind of made the thread your own blog. There is a fourm on twoplustwo called House of Blogs. That would a great place to express your thoughts given the blogging nature of yor posting.

News just featured a shot in front of the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan where Zeno and I sipped champagne a couple years ago. Last year I was in San Diego on this date, having a lovely time with colleagues.

Both seem so far away now.

I really need to get away.

I know it's tough, John...if you need a trip to Vegas (now that they are opening again, you have a couch with your name on it, anytime.

I'm sorry for snapping at you, Rebelp, I'm just frustrated with your style of posting. In the music thread, it's perfectly fine, but as R*R explained, this thread is not a personal blog. If you'd like to start your own thread in the Lounge, something like "Rebelp's Musings", I don't think anyone would mind.

Good for you, sir. Jealous!

Amen.

Sorry Rebelp, your posts are insufferable.

what will you say on your death bed.

boy i am glad i did the same old thing over and over all my life.

should have taken better care of my body and i wouldnt be here yet.

i wish i had traveled more and saw the world.

should have had more other sex friends.

saved too much money for the end and should have enjoyed it more.

boy i wasted much of my time on earth.

or did it all and can die happy.

Great questions.

I like my job, love where I live currently, and have more fun than most. My goal is for my bank account to match my regrets: 0

I've asked myself this when making all big decisions since I was 20. It really helps clarify.

Yeah, it is depressing. I had all sorts of travel plans this summer (Europe, Western states, Wisconsin/Northern Michigan) and all have been cancelled. I did make it to Las Vegas back in January and that seems like 10 years ago.

I am just itching to travel but until things open up and civil unrest dies down I am not sure I'll get out of my neighborhood.

As is often the case, Ray hits the nail on the head. Unfortunately, while I logically recognize his correctness, I'm too cautious to take action, at least so far.

I had a friend in college who used to say his goal was to spend his last dollar and his last breath ordering his last drink.

Seems like a drink is going to waste, but pretty close to optimal.

dont forget to borrow all you can and max out your credit cards. they will still say nice things about you when you are gone.
06-05-2020 , 11:39 AM
I don't borrow, but I'm 100% on board with stiffing the cc cos.

I think that many of the issues that I have caused are due to the way that my mind processes language. Rays post is a good example.
Obviously I can understand that “What would you say on your Deathbed?” means how would you summarise your existence. What happens in my mind then is that I then take this literally and think “Nothing, you just make a horrible rattling noise due to your inability to swallow saliva “

No it's not that. Staying on topic is just fine. It's more that you continually and frequently post several of your own personal musings in this thread. Dominic's suggestion that you start your own thread is a good one. I would look forward to reading it.

I just want Ray Zee to say, "Yes, Sir" to me before I die.

If no one minds I will start a thread.
Current thinking is to title it “Rebels rumbustious ruminations “
The subtitle will be “Written by the most disliked person on the internet “
