We are; I just finished a wonderful hike in the beautiful coastal forest of my homeland. On a bright, sunny and warm day.

I'm tired of this isolation. It's not like I am all that social anyway, but I miss my weekly dinners with my daughter and granddaughter. On the other hand, I've learned to make video calls on Snapchat.

One of the reasons that I have never been interested in a management career is this.
I was having a joke with one of the plant operators after he had accidentally ruined a 1 ton batch of carrot and coriander soup by using cumin instead of coriander. The conversation was something like “Easy mistake to make, what with them starting with the same letter”
One of the managers must have overheard this , in a meeting he said “ Someone needs to tell Patrick that he needs to take this seriously “ At this point I had spent 26 consecutive hours on site trying to make the plant operational.

I've been enjoying it so far. I'm not as completely isolated as some, but I always have a bunch of projects I want to work on, projects that most of my family and friends would consider crazy, and I enjoy having the time to work on them. I find that as I get older I need more time to get into concentration mode. Whereas when I was a kid I could pick something up and work on it for 15 minutes, then pick it up again the next day and start right in, now it takes 15 or 30 minutes just to remember wtf I was doing -- so I like these big blocks of down time.

I've also been going out for walks. The woods behind me, and the sidewalks in my neighborhood have been deserted. I wear a 3M breather. When I do see somebody, they assume I'm wearing it because I'm sick and get out of my way.

I'm not sure how much longer this will last. My experience has been that people don't stick with plans that in any way cause them to be inconvenienced. After a week they'll assume that they're immune and go out and catch whatever is available. We'll see.

Phat Mack,

I have that same feeling about people thinking they are safe.

Except for trips to the store and to work, briefly, to pick up a couple things, I've been home.

But I know I don't do well when I have little to do. So it's watching movies and reading.

I recently started to develop breasts As a 58 year old man I found this alarming, but if you do a bit of research you will find that Gynecomastia is quite common

Being an anti-social hermit type this situation has not altered my lifestyle even a little. Only change I made (over a month ago) was stopping going to the health club. I can still get my workouts in at home though.

It woulda been tougher in the per internet, pre home theater, pre computer days.

I've been rereading Catch-22 for the first time in well over 50 years, and delighting in it. Heller seems to break every writing convention I am aware of. This may very well be the greatest novel of the 20th century.

Pretty much the same the past couple years. I had to take six months off because of seizures a couple years ago. Couldn't drive, couldn't work, so only a few visitors now and then relieved the isolation. It feels like that all over again but without the visitors.

I don't know how you live like this, I am loathing it.

I expect the birth rate and divorce rate to both rise exponentially!

I made a joke about prostitution. It was not well received. In fact it went down as badly as a $20 whore

For fans of cretinism the “Have your say” comments section on the BBC website is a must read.

Simplified explanation of how Gynecomastia works.
Your body produces girl hormones and boy hormones.
The girl hormones try to tell you to make breasts, the boy hormones tell them to shut up.
As you age your body produces less boy hormones so the girls get what they want, which is bazzomers.

I'm going absolutely nuts. Everyone in the Great State of California is bored and losing their minds. People are actually talking about buying guns right now.

I'm more scared of the people and the government than the virus at this time. I'm contacting friends in other parts of the country to see if I can't dip out before the governor declares martial law. Other people I know are thinking of this as well.

If nothing else, I'll just go live in a hotel in Omaha or something.
