I did show real interest for months. It sort of went like this: she would suggest meeting up to jam or whatever, and then we'd arrange to do so, and then she would cancel. I would ask her to meet up and do whatever, and she would say not available.

Then that gig happened, which went really bad for her, obviously. She invited me to do something then cancelled, and then another plan was cancelled and I told her we ought to no bother talking outside the usual spots we find ourselves.

A month or more later, this is where we are now. I offered to do another jam and that was a not-really-interested because she's got her friends and so on, and yeah, she's sorry she's a flake.

But she isn't a flake. If you want to know someone, it's easy, not constant cancellations, begging out because you are busy, or not responding to someone for 2 days or even 2 weeks. It was a lot of resistance between us, and that's pretty much why we act disinterested towards each other. Neither one of us want to break the normal flow of each other's lives, which is why we put on a nice act for the audience.

Ah, Dave. Woman I mentioned above offered for the second time today to pick me up. She felt bad I'm alone today. But I told her I didn't want her going through the trouble once again. Sometimes the thought really is what counts.

Perhaps she's still trying to connect to you in some way. If she's not a flake, give it a chance. My ex-girlfriend has been emailing me again. I still talk to her. And she's a flake.

I'm saying that flakey isn't a real concept. People act as they are really and actions speak. Flakey is just a vapid word to cover up true motives.

Or more to the point, someone is flakey with you: they aren't flakey with everyone.

Oh, I don't know. I know a couple flakes who have no motives whatsoever, true or otherwise. But I do get what you mean.
