Pic in spoiler below was taken in dive sports bar in San Clemente. I agree with the sentiment wholeheartedly. Posted for Lounger enlightenment. Please note: Pic NSFW.

I'm not sure if "dive" and "sports bar" really belong together.

True, but anything is possible in California. But we now know that China and Surfboard does not belong together.

I did discover almost anything is possible in California. I like that.

Two of the ugliest buildings in LA. No spoiler required; your eyeballs deserved to be scorched by the images. Not hard to guess the timeframe when these monoliths to ugliness were constructed.

Those buildings are brutal.
09-04-2018 , 05:01 PM
may be ugly but i wish i was getting the rent from each of those cubby holes.

They look like every state office building that was built in Austin ~1970.

Living in ultra small town Montana all our bars are dive bars. I have to admit, though, that one of them has the nicest back bars I have ever seen. Huge carved wooden thing that was brought up the Missouri River and then carted overland quite a ways back in 1903/04 or sometime very close to that. Of course, can't leave out the bullet hole that remains in one of the large paintings inside. They also had painted pictures of "working gals" (complete with breasts fully showing) on the outside 2nd story up until just a few years ago.
There is also a hidden trap door to a basement where there used to be some pretty interesting poker games back in the day. I am guessing the kind of place Ray Zee hung around in back in the day, lol.

Found out that the youngest boy is headed to Korea for a year long deployment. He leaves next May. Should be a great adventure for him and a darn good excuse for Fishette and I to finally get passports and make a big vacation trip outside the country

those buildings are literally taller than all the buildings in kansas.

The son finally left his girlfriend, taking his daughter with him. I do believe I'm going to be enlisted for babysitting duties on Sundays for my three year old granddaughter. Oh, joy.

Hi John cole! Gl with your grandchild
09-07-2018 , 10:34 PM
Fish, seeing music in a dive bar is always a good time. I'm a total dive bar kind of person.

I'll also say visiting Korea is more or less on my bucket list.

John, have fun with the granddaughter. Any time spent with them is precious in my mind no matter what the circumstances are.

Davet. I used to really enjoy playing in dive bars. Haven't had a chance to do that in a very long time now. Only music we get in the local bars is on the jukebox. I do miss seeing live bands

I'm a dive bar kind of guy, much to the surprise of some who know me.

And I will enjoy the time with my granddaughter although she is still a wild child. But I've spent much more time with my eight year old granddaughter who isn't a wild child. She just wears me out, and I teach her fancy vocabulary.

Summer photo and Good Bye to Orange County. Pic taken at someone's home in San Clemente. Dana Point Harbor is at right background (under the bluff). Good to be out of the madness, as fun and dazzling as it is. I escaped unscathed from the rapacious Californian allure. But note my dazzling shirt that I purchased in Hawaii.

Ray Zee needs another Motorcycle; a chopper, and I suggest this one -

Does anyone actually know how to use iMovie?

And is it possible that Apple could have made this thing worse than it is?

Nice pic, Zeno, and the shirt makes you look approachable, less the misanthrope.

I have a cousin in Dana Point, but I missed him last trip. Looking forward to returning next summer.

nice bike zeno.. i actually was just looking for another harley for my other place. saw a cool chopper but realized how stupid i am getting two of them, i have three bikes right now.
so instead just made a deal on an airstream motorhome. lucky i live in the country and have plenty of place to park all this crap.

dana point used to be great before it got found. now its just an extension of the wall of people and concrete. dont lean over or you fall into the neighbors terrace there.

your lucky as most most dont do anything when they retire and just sit their life away. you are spending your relatives inheritance the way it should be.

yea great shirt zeno. i kept a few of those for years thinking they would come back in style. but they never did so i chucked them.
