sounds just like pink floyd did. all the songs sound the same to me.

i guess my appreciation for whatever it is ended in the beginning of the 70's when acid rock popped up.

the last great song of the 1970's

lol climate-change-deniers are subhuman filth

I got burnt out on pink floyd shortly after high school. My friends and I wore those records out, but now only the rare track does anything for me

I lost interest in Pink Floyd after Syd Barrett left. Dark Side of the Moon was OK, but kinda triggering for me.

The forest fires are getting worse because the fires are being stopped by humans. We are breaking the natural burn cycle of forest fires, which is causing more kindling. It doesn't really have much to do with climate change.

I love the fact that I have to pay extra taxes to replace rich people's cabins every summer. I really need to get into the upside of this con. Whatever happened to letting stupid people own their own?

lol

just let 'em burn, eh?

To be sure, forest fires are no joke. We don't get a whole lot of the fires down here in LA, though they do flare up in the hills now and then. It's crazy to see.

When I first moved to LA, there was a fire nearby. The sun was blotted out for a day. Other times, you can see the black clouds and yeah, the temperature is often hotter.

It's disturbing to see news reports of people who are like "oh, I lost my past 4 houses to a fire, so we are rebuilding on the same land. It won't be the same..."

Uh... it will be the same. In 5 years, your house is getting burned down again!

Don't let the haters get you down. Pink Floyd was great. There is a tribute band in Montana that I really want to see but haven't been able to make it work. Bet it was a ball!!!

To deny that climate change is happening is just burying your head in the sand and denying the science. It certainly has some effect on fires and the magnitude. But I believe the other half is not allowing management of forests by do gooders who have no idea what they are talking about. I almost lost my home to a serious fire 6 years ago. I had to evacuate with my son, the dog, the cat, the guns, all the pictures I could get ahold of quickly and some clothes. The only reason we even got all that loaded was because I was fighting it and saw the monster heading towards the house where I had sent my son a half hour before. I ran to home and told him to start grabbing things because I knew we would be evacuated. Thought the house was gone but it spared us. Got close but spared us. Went a week with no power and was back helping to fight it for the week.

I have seen some crazy stuff with wild fires close up and personal and been scared a time or too as well. So I am not !uch in favor of letting them burn. Now people should have some responsibility in where they build homes and know if there is a chance that they could lose their house that they should do things that can help.

Good luck to all in danger right now and keeping my fingers crossed that we don't see anything terrible here. I have grass mowed, gutters cleaned out, watering the lawn and have a sprayer set up in my Ranger in case I have to go to war, lol.

Don't let the bastards get ya down.

I'm not a climate change denier. I'm simply stating that the bad management is the primary culprit. I do wish that these areas would be listed as national parks, so we can place restrictions on building homes. Losing a home you had for 20 years is a far cry from having to rebuild your home every few years. The former is a freak accident and I'd definitely feel sorry for anyone that goes through that; I strongly disapprove of the latter.

Look, I get it. I've lived in LA, Miami, and other areas that are prone to nature's wishes. It's only a matter of time before a bad quake hits, and perhaps my own home takes a tumble. The difference is that many homes, large buildings, and bridges have been standing in LA and SF for the past 50+ years, and that's because earthquake management is paramount. These cities aren't built directly on top of a fault line that generates an 7.5 quake that topples the city every 5 years.

Weather here is beautiful; warm, sunny, clear and not a cloud or smoke plume anywhere near. A sailboat is anchored in the bay, a large pod of gray whales are cavorting off shore, people are enjoying leisurely walks on the beach and the sunset will be gorgeous. God is in His heaven and this is the best of all possible worlds. So Ray has it all wrong. Heaps of fish are in the Rogue near the mouth and 12,000 boats are jammed in the area about the bridge. Tourists are everywhere but it is all transient. When you live in paradise it is all good.

as he said while putting his precious door under the water.

Each to their own. I haven't listened to Floyd for a long time either. I saw them in concert a few times back in the 80's and listened to them a lot for many years, but new bands came along and new sounds were discovered so they dropped down my playlist after a while.
It was good to hear some of the classics again though and some old memories were revived so yeah, it was a ball!

I find Pink Floyd depressing.

I don't think Pink Floyd was ever meant to be happy happy joy joy music. At least not under Waters.

Problem with Floyd is that they should have stopped beating the dead horse. It's not one band, but three different bands across different eras, and outside of a few albums, their music is just horrible.

I used to listen to some of their stuff all the time. Similar to others, I just stopped listening to them for no particular reason.

Thanks, Ray. Never heard of James G. Blaine. Interesting figure.

Spent the weekend with family: brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces, daughter, granddaughter, son-in-law, cousins from California. Nice to see everyone and everyone enjoying each other's company.

[QUOTE=John Cole;54113413] I object to #3.

its a proven fact that people refuse to believe they need help when they do need help so they dont get help because they dont see the need for help thus forever needing the help they refuse to get despite getting advice that they need help and arent getting help because they dont think they need help when in fact they most certainly do need help.

#3 (a) Women see that you certainly need help, but perceive that you would be far too great a project for them to take on, so they are trying to foist you off on someone else. Better you than me.

ray and Zeno are currently planning the bachelor party.

Best wishes.
