Played golf today. Chipped in for a birdie from about 35 feet on a part three. Friend said he didn't see it, so it doesn't count. Okay, I'll do it again. And I did.

Highlight of the golf year.

Good for you John. Ray Zee couldn’t do that in a million years.

No hole in one although within an inch or two a few times. A few eagles on short par fives.

Most birdies in a round was five.

Today I celebrate a par. The Lounge Fall LC Thread: Somehow, We Keep Going

I have a 7-iron that I keep in my car. I call it The Enforcer. My only claim to fame is that once, years ago, I made a 40ft put. Nailed it perfectly. Then I quit.

So, last night we walked a few houses down into a cul de sac on an invitation from our new neighbors...they've been having sit-arounds since the pandemic started, drinking and chatting and having a good 'ol time.

We met about 8 different couples, all of whom were so nice and welcoming...older, younger, straight, gay, black, white... Looks like our new neighborhood is awesome. They all seem to look out for one another.

That's so cool

Sounds like the cast of a new TV show

How was the Busan sequel?

I wonder if I'll ever get to see a movie again.

That's really cool. I'm guessing this isn't a swamp land with an uptight (typical) HOA. Seeing your neighbors invite to an outing so soon is great.

(of course, this is how all horror movies start)

I bought a collection of "protective gear" yesterday.

Took way too long to decide on what to buy, but I was looking for something that would be both stylish and relatively loose; anything but a blue surgical mask. Technically, I can complain, but I can't complain either.

Yesterday I learned there is this thing called a gaiter scarf, so hey.

since i am always fixing things and know that sooner or later something will happen in this stupid world i keep a small supply of n95 masks and p 100 painting face helmets.
so when this hits i was prepared so i dont have to wear masks with little protection.
there are kn95 masks available now. those are just made in china but give the same protection.
those cheap masks help protect others from you but not you so much from others.

those scarfs will not stop very many virus particles from going right through them.
the only reason to wear one of those is for regulations for entering places.

Dom,

Sounds nice. Now get a portable fire pit and wagon to bring it down to the cul-de-sac in the future. Nice nights sitting around the fire pit with the neighbors, catching up and getting to know one another.
10-11-2020 , 11:00 AM
Coincidences! I’m just now looking to build a cooking fire pit. Thinking of just getting a good grate and necessary bricks to do one about 3 ft in diameter.
10-11-2020 , 11:17 AM
I have allergies and like to be outside, so I had a large collection of N95s when the plague struck.

Fire pits are a pain in the ass. They don't draw well, you have to stoop to cook on them, and it's a pain to clean out the ashes. Better to build an old-fashioned stone barbecue/outdoor grill/outdoor fireplace. More work but a hunnerd times better.
10-11-2020 , 11:27 AM
Thought of that also, but that involves much more work but probably better in the long run. I’ll have Ray come down and build one for me. Have any good drawings/plans for construction? Need good bricks too.
