My brother is a nurse, as are his two daughters. His youngest daughter and her fiancee live with my brother and his wife. The boyfriend tested positive for Covid, so although my niece tested negative, she was told to stay out of work until Christmas. My brother was told to come to work if he's not feeling sick.

Jean was a nurse. While waiting for one of her final Drs appointments an elderly lady was about to fall, Jean leapt out of her chair and caught the lady. She was on fentanyl for pain at the time.

anyone has covid in the same house all will likely get it. especially if its a younger person as few really give a crap about protecting others.

My sister-in-law says that the one with Covid has been the most careful, and I'm sure my niece will test positive shortly. My brother and sister-in-law might get it too, but they don't have constant contact.

Friend's wife just called to say my friend of 54 years is in hospital with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. One of his sons is named after me, and I'm his godfather. The year continues.

its just natural as we get older the people that we know are older and are dying out more frequently. something we have to live with until its us that they are taking about next.

Sorry to hear, John, it seems you've had a lot of bad news recently.

Just had some delicious take out Chinese food. About once a month I get Chinese take out and whenever I do I always get an extra meal to through in the fridge for the next day. Anybody else do that? Chinese for lunch tomorrow!

John - we've never met in person, and i really only know you via snarky internet chitchat, but i also know what it's like to have lifelong friends be in really tough spots and how that can affect you.
stay strong my friend.

Sorry, John...that sucks. Do what you can to see him, or at least talk to him.

hobbes9324, a frequent and welcome contributor to The Lounge, has passed away at the age of 65. There is a nice thread in OOT that Suzzer posted about him. He was a doctor and died of brain cancer.

He was always good-humored and sometimes a little cantankerous, which I loved. He will be missed.

sad to see anyone go that we know. but all fires burn out.

This is sad news. His advice and recommendations were always top notch. RIP MM MD.

Hobbes9342 helped me with a medical problem one time. This was during a time when people thought I wasn’t being serious, but I actually was. During this time he was one of a handful of posters I didn’t know in real life who was kind and helpful. He will be missed. RIP

3 years ago I still kind of delusionally wanted to be someone important. That won’t happen. Now I just want the little things. But I will be somewhere in Kansas living a simple life of some sort.

Thanks Ray Zee. I’m doing good at my frozen food job. My department sales were up while others were not. All my cousins are doing much better than me. My sister is late 20’s and making six figures a year . She has an mba and helps me out with my attitude problems. I try to stay out of everyone’s way.

life is a trip, bro. you'll be fine. take it all in stride. be as healthy as you can and a force for good. trying to stay in the light, while having a political fascination, might be a challenge, I find. so, leave that alone, or in very small doses
