thats really nice imo. and i agree with LacieK, looks bigger than 38mm. 15mm thick is pretty chunky though right?

i want to buy a hamilton viewmatic 40mm, but all the online stores seem to have them on regular buckles instead of one of those deployant clasps, which i just must have tbh. i have 2 watches now, one with a deployant and one normal buckle, the deployant is just so much nicer and a more comfy fit.

Personally, I love Chronoswiss pictures, but please try it on before you buy. I have never tried on a watch that looked so different on my wrist than in the display case.

If you like it on your wrist, buy it. They are great watches.

Also, it should be noted that this is one of most beautiful watches in this price range. Just jaw-dropping in person.

Then why would you buy this with points, reasoning that it has the best $ value per point, if you will get no practical use out of it or if you won't be selling it.

I would much rather have a flatscreen tv valued at half the $ value of the watch, but costing the same point wise fwiw.

If i need to sell it at some point, i will be able to get at least 1 grand. I doubt that time will ever come.

Also, I pay good money to play on these poker sites. The perks that i do get i want to get the most out of it. I would never buy any watch at that price, just not my thing. Also, if i want a new tv, i will just go to store and buy one

I like the watch for what it is. Not my style but imo it is a cool collectable.

And for the moms basement guy, maybe i should buy yours mom's house; in order to start charging u rent for living there.

The SBPP003 has the 7T62, which is coincidentally one of those movements I mentioned earlier where the chrono second hand moves at 5hz instead of the usual 1hz. I really like that piece's retro feel. You don't see these on the secondary market very much, people tend to hang on to them. The only downside to this watch IMO is that it's only 50m water resistant.

The SCVS013 is also pretty rarely seen on the secondary market. It's a smaller piece but wears a little bit bigger than its size due to it's small bezel. The 6R15 is a heckuva movement for a workhorse. It's a big improvement over the previous Seiko workhorse 7S26 as it both hacks and handwinds and seems to be much more accurate. There is a very, very wide range of styles featuring the 6R15, if you like the retro feel of the SBPP003 you might like the SARB031, for example.
So by secondary market do you mean they are used watches? I was under the impression they were new.

No, Seiya sells new stuff. What I mean is that these are pretty popular models by the amount of traffic they generate on watch forums, but you don't see many people selling them. Given that many watch collectors are habitual flippers, this can be seen as a sign that people *really* like these. The SCVS013 in particular is a very frequently-seen watch but seldom-sold one. People are always posting wrist shots of it.

This would be in contrast to something like the SBDC001 "sumo" 6R15 diver, which is constantly traded on (eg) watchuseek, PMWF, etc. There are probably four or five sumos posted to the watchuseek sales forum every week, there may be two or three SCVS013s posted there a year.

Those Hamiltons look awesome, they're my new favorite affordable watch company. What's the model name of the 42mm?

So come to you again.

Lookin for somethin in similar price range (max $1500ish, prefer under $1K).

I know this is range covers like a million watches on the internet but like I said I trust your style and recommendation alot cause I freakin love my Hamilton you linked me to.

Want the face 44 or 45. My newest is 42 but I don't think I'd mind it bigger. Is 2mm much of a difference or if I want it to be noticeably bigger should I go even bigger?

Also..... I'm kinda debating getting a metal band or black leather. I have both black leather and metal band watches already but they aren't very nice.

I'm kinda thinkin my ideal choice atm would be somethin 44-45mm, black leather strap, automatic, with some cool clasp (like the last one you linked me to), with a white face.

I know it's super random and could be a million diff watches but I don't know watches like you seem to.

BTW i said sup to you the other day at the tables.... no love back

thanks and gl
Sorry if you said hi and I didn't reply. I probably never saw it because I was playing too many tables. What's your sn?

2mm is not a big difference. I couldn't find one 44-45mm that met your other preferences. You'll probably find a lot of Hamilton's that fit what you're looking for (like 5 posts ago) but I don't know if you want another Hamilton. How about these?

42, 40, and 40mm, respectively. All with deployment clasp.

edit: IDK if you can stretch the budget but the TAG is out of your price range at $2200 and the Longines is about $1700.

So I am thinking a Seiko SARB047

Pretty much a 6R15 (ala Sumo) in a Monster Case. Thinking more & more about getting this.

Uhoh seems like I have a bit of a problem.

About 36 hours ago my Carl F. Bucherer Patravi Big Date started running fast by about 3 minutes per hour. I have no idea what could have caused this but did some research and it says that dirt or magnetic fields can be the cause. The watch is pretty much brand new but I have been traveling a bit lately, I also caught it on a door handle the other day but didn't hit it too hard.

Tentative plan is to take it off until the power reserve runs out and see if that helps. if not I guess I'll have to look into the warranty information. Any suggestions guys?

I've been completely obsessed with watches recently and I fell in love with some big pilots at affordable prices. Thoughts on the below? I just bought one of each.

If you like the Fliegers, check out the Fortis. I've seen just about every Flieger, and I think the Fortis is #1. I like the Tourby, and I also like the Archimede. Steinhart's aren't to bad either.

My only gripe with them is the obnoxious size of the crown.

Yeah-- I am afraid that when I get this watch, I may not wear it much because of that reason. But the face is nice enough for me to roll the dice. Why the f would they make it so big??

That's how they were historically, so pilots could wind/set them with gloves on.

There are flieger-style pieces out there with normal crowns.

eg:

(I think they make a sterlie-dial version but I'm not sure)

Without even putting them on I would prefer a smaller crown.. but the faces on those two don't compare imo
