That would be direct opposition to the normal Seiko/GS scenario... even the highly desirable piece don't rise in values over msrp even if the grey market dealers are asking high pricing... the watches just sit there on the secondary market.

Here is a GREAT deal for someone, davidsw has a really great seiko piece for a smoking good price. There is a sla033 for sale on his site for 2950 and I am sure they might accept an offer around 2750 or so. It's a limited piece to around 2500 pieces world wide and the watch is built in the Grand Seiko factory right along side the GS line.

I have one and I paid much more than that for it when it was first released...

Anyone here have a Tudor black bay? I’m really digging their design however the bracelet looks a little boring. I don’t own any dive watches so the black bay will prolly be my first when I have the money to splurge.

Btw anyone have recommendations for flashy watches? I own 2 breitling chronomats that I love. I really love the polished breitling bracelets. I own 2 tag heur formula 1s and I find the bracelet so boring and dull in comparison to the breitlings.

I’m going to guess I have to spend 5k and up for flashy watches but just wondering if anyone has recommendations? I really want to buy a Rolex but will need time to get to that price range watch. I’m really digging the Batman and some of the 41 datejusts lately.

Tudor BB is a great piece with a very loyal following... but I dont have one anymore because it just cuts into buying something better imho. That is a real issue in watch collecting, buying something kindof cool to passify you until you can get something better. Imho, it better to just wait until you can swing the watch you really desire so you are not having to deal with depreciating values and also having to flip a piece which becomes troublesome. If you are happy with the BB58, then get it... only time will tell if it truly satisfies that itch. FWIW, they have a new blue bezel that is all the rage.

As far as flash watches, what niche... dress, sports?

Prolly sport watches/ divers. I rarily wear a dress shirt so dress watches are not something I’m into. I find leather straps kinda meh unless you are dressing up for a special occasion. I really like the Tudor chronos (feel they slightly
Look like a Rolex Daytona however not so pricey) and the Tudor prince day date (feel it looks solid like a datejust kinda but at a more friendly price tag).

I tend to buy watches when I win poker tournies. I’m probably looking to buy a Batman/ Rolex datejust next but it could honestly be 2-5 years bc I’m not just going to take out 10-20k to buy a watch. If I win a poker tourny I’ll prolly splurge though.

The still image doesn't do it justice either. It's over priced, but didn't stop me getting on several interest lists and putting a deposit down (at Goldsmith's of all places). A couple of local ADs have closed their lists already, although it's not Limited Edition so can't see it doing what the 45th anniversary is going for.

Although I realised I'd somehow never tried on a speedy (small wrists) so will have to go window shopping.

I hope you get one... I am not personally a fan of some of these limited offerings, but that's just me. I would consider a man on the moon ed white 321 or a sapphire sandwich 006. Of course I would kill for a Omega 'Moonshine'.

On a side note, I am trying to move one of my pieces if there is any interest here... a Rolex Air King 116900. Fair market is about 7400$us but I am willing to offer it for less.

Pm me if you have interest... AS NEW condition, safe queen full set original owner.
Peace.

Not really the type of watch posted here but picked up one of these as a day to day wearer. I'm trying to get into better shape and this is helping track all that as well as my sleep.

The only thing I would change on mine would have been going for the solar power functionality, I absolutely love it though.

Finally got around to buying a Speedmaster last month after coveting one for a while. Managed to get a 12% discount pretty easily. Could possibly have gotten more by shopping around.

which model speedy?

Ive really been eyeing the 321... but it's not possible to find in the USA yet, but I have my name on the AD list. I am not willing to play Rolex games with Omega though.

Speedmaster Professional. The 'moonwatch'.

After a bit of research I decided to go for the Hesalite crystal.

ah... the 005, that is a great piece.
I was just at the Omega AD (two of them) today to ask again about the 321... they are playing Rolex games and wait listing it.

they have never NOT been available... the probability if getting one without a history at the dealer is pretty low, but not impossible. I've seen many steel pro models in the AD stores, but they usually are not the models I am interested in.

the other way to to negotiate with grey marketeers... just shop wisely.

Found a watch I like, used, same model is on both Crown and Caliber and Tourneau. Is one more reputable than the other? Does one have better customer service than the other?

TIA

They’re both reputable. Can’t really speak to the customer service. A brick and mortar Tourneau treated me very well, giving me personal attention and letting me try on some nice watches even though I was upfront that I wasn’t going to be buying any from them imminently. My step father has used crown and caliber a couple times and was satisfied with the service.

Anyone seen the caseback of the the Speedy Snoopy anniversary watch that villagio mentioned above in person? I know we’re in a pandemic and everything. Really want to see that thing. https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/om...ry-introducing
