I think that's the best looking Aqua Terra ever in the middle, and it also has a great in-house movement with the non-magnetic properties. The Tudor has a unique looking dial and the in-house movement, but how much clothing do you have with yellow in it? The Aqua Terra is going to be more versatile, and it has the much more attractive movement through the display caseback.

The aqua Terra looks great. As the poster above said I also reckon the middle looks best and is way more versatile to wear than something with yellow.

North Flag also has their proprietary lug thing, which Tudor generally doesn't do. You're stuck with the black and yellow.

Villagio, not sure what prices you are hearing from the AD on that Aqua Terra, but wanted to give you a heads up that Chitown Watch, where I got my Speedy, has it for $4,200 out the door delivered. It's hybrid gray market, as the guy buys them new from ADs looking to clear inventory with stamped and valid warranty cards.

I'm looking for a watch to wear with dark suits. Preferably in the $300-$600 range and preferably not a quartz. I already have a Tissot and a Hamilton so I am looking for a brand other than those .

What is the reupation of Glycine? I did see they were bought by Invicta. That wouldn't bother me unless somehow their quality has declined. I've seen a few of their watches that I like.

It just seems that if I eliminate Tissot and Hamilton, I really limit my options at that price point.

Hey dudes, selling a decent, cheaper automatic black ingersoll 1892, looks like it's going to go for less than I anticipated so if any of you want to swoop in last minute and get a great deal, do it! I'll try to set up a discount if any 2+2er happens to nab it Let's Talk Watches

(if posting this isn't allowed for some reason, mod can feel free to delete of course, but thought it'd possibly be a great deal for someone here)

Have you looked into Seiko at all? SARB033 seems like it would fit the bill.

Thanks, I do like the look of that. Although I am looking for a leather strap.

SARB033 can take any standard 20mm strap.

I think I'm in love with this strap.

SARB033 is discontinued btw it's now going for well over $400 new, so it might not be the value proposition it once was.

Glycine's rep is fine they just aren't much for dress watches, they do diver and pilot watches. What specific model were you looking at?

Eliminating Tissot and Hamilton is fine because the Swatch group's best entry level dress watches are from Mido, e.g.

Frederique Constant and Raymond Weil are the other 2 players in that price range for dress watches(I guess Oris sometimes dips that low, but that'd be a steal), but they seem like they are really variable in their pricing so you'd have to time it right.

That blue Railmaster is insanely nice looking. I was planning on buying the Black Bay 58 when it hit market saturation but now that might get bumped down the priority line. What a dial.

Thanks, I really like that Mido. Exactly what I am looking for.

This was the Glycine I saw that I was interested in buying:

I was going to throw a black strap on it. I wear a suits everyday, but not super formal, I typically wear gray, blue, or charcoal suits. So I don't necessarily need a very formal watch. I have 2 watches that I really like with brown bands and a bracelet watch, but when I am wearing a darker suit with black shoes I'd prefer a black band.
I really like how my Tissot and Hamilton look on leather bands and I'm too lazy to switch the bands back and forth on a regular basis.

I have an Incursore like that one (mine is a manual, but otherwise it's basically the same). It's a great watch for the money but it's BIG for a dress watch. It doesn't exactly slip under your shirt cuffs. It's really more suited to a zulu-type strap IMO, and for more casual wear.

If you want that semi-sporty dial but in a dressier size

https://www.ashford.com/us/watches/c...cat690030&so=1

20% off would be what, like $270? Certina is a brand with even less brand recognition in the US than Glycine but it's another entry level Swatch property so the quality should be fine.

I am crazy for even thinking of wanting the Nomos Siren White at nearly 4k right?

Dad just dug this up. It was his father's from the 60s maybe? Prety sure its real gold and it says International Watch Co. Schaffhausen. Anyone have any idea about its value or what model it is?

That's sweet...I'd like it better with a rubber or leather strap, tho

4k for that nomos seems... excessive but inevitable at the same time?
Let's Talk Watches Quote

Yeah, I like the Nomos but if I had $4k to spend on a watch I would put it elsewhere. Kail0r, did you take that photo with your grandfather's camera from the 60s? Get a better shot of the dial and case back.

Haha sorry was a quick one but doesn't look so bad on my phone. Quality looks to have been reduced on the forum. Case back is blank though. Says automatic down the bottom between centre and 6. IWCS between centre and 12.

You might want to try and post this on the forums at watchuseek. You might get a better answer over there. I’d be interested to see what you find out.
