I ****ing love that watch. Got my tulip hands itch scratched by the SARB017 for less but this one is on my radar.

Tried on this beauty today and I'm in love...

Absolutely stunning piece and it wears so well.

That Hamilton is a nice looking watch. What's the white/red circle on the JLC, just a stylistic thing or some sort of moonphase?

Power reserve, I'm guessing.

Tilting that the Limited Edition Hamilton doesn't have a date function but the "regular" one does.

Yeah, but is the chrono functional, or only for design purposes?

The real question is "will it be used more than the non-functional one?"

The understated design cues and simple efficient markers on that Jaeger make it very appealing to me. I do however think that if some off brand watch company came up with that design I'm quite sure the word "homage" would be applied to it by someone.

That's sharp. Love the hands and the knurling on the edge of the case. Not in love with the lug style, but I guess it works.

If you like the way it looks, who gives a **** if the chrono is not functional?

save even more money and just print a picture of the watch out and wear that!

Watches are useless anyway, just check your cellphone.

If your cell phone doesn't have a tourbillon you better not take that phone call in mixed company.

Anyone have thoughts on the Orient Mako?

Suggestions on best value diver?

Is the Mako pretty rugged? Thanks.

Bell & Ross BR03-92

I don't think I could take someone wearing this watch seriously in like any context. It looks like a kids watch priced for a man. Maybe something Justin Bieber would wear. Perhaps spend the money on a face tattoo or a necklace with your own head insted?

I really like the design of this watch. I'm not big, so the fact that it's not very big is a plus. I believe it could be had for around 700 on the internet. Is this a good purchase? Are there any similarly designed watches?

Thank you.
It's a really great watch. I had one and flipped it which I kind of regret. $700 new is a really good price, you can occasionally find them on the 2ndary market for less but not much less than that and whenever they pop up they are snatched up quickly, so if you decide you don't love it you shouldn't have any trouble at all flipping it.

Junghans also makes a version with no numbers, and there are auto and hand-wind versions of both dials IIRC.

The Stowa Antea is similar, and comes in a smaller 36mm version as well as a 39mm.

Bell & Ross make some excellent watches. I don't particularly like this model myself but it does look decent in the right setting if you have big enough wrists. Would wear some of their other models on casual occasions also.

I like the BR-02 a lot.

the 01 and 03 are not really my bag, but there are certainly worse watches you could buy in that price range.

Not a bad looking watch for the price, but didn't you say 45mm would be too large for your wrist?

Orient Mako is a 40mm.

Pulling the trigger on the Hamilton Pioneer I posted above.
Me and the gf of three years just broke up.
Need to make a purchase to prove my man hood.

Oh, I see. It's 41mm and then 45mm on the XL. Really can't go wrong with a nice looking and well-reviewed automatic watch that can be had for right around $100. What color you thinking about?

Good memory Gaddy! Yes I think I will have to go with the regular Mako for my wrist size. It seems that the movement is pretty accurate and solid reviews for the price. I will get the Blue color. It will be nice to have a more casual, diver watch around. They also make the Orient "Ray" which looks similar but has no numbers in the dial and the numbers on the bezel are bigger. I agree with you i think it is great value. Although I hear some are not pleased with the bracelet but hopefully it will be good enough. Hope you are enjoying your watch! It was the cool looking Oris you ended up with right?
