I took that pic at my friend's house and unfortunately all I have is the crappy camera on my iPhone. I can take a few with it, but obviously they won't be great.

I might stop by his place today and snap a few more.

I paid $5400 for mine via private sale on TimeZone LNIB. Even if you walk into Tourneau you aren't paying retail for any watch, there's always some wiggle room.

Every time I see that IWC I start reconsidering my hunt for a vintage Rolex. It's so beautiful.

Wow. That's a really nice watch, and that doesn't sound too bad, 6,500. I thought it would be more like 11k. I saw a few really nice rolex's for around 9k that I liked and I like that IWC more. My wife said she would buy me one if I got her an engagement ring.

That was 2 years ago.

I love IWC watches, but I am a huge sucker for see through case backs. If I'm paying big money for a watch, I want to be able to see the craftsmanship at work. That's just me and I realize it will be on my wrist most of the time.

Still gorgeous though...

I was thinking that too. I will never buy a watch without an exhibition back, but that's just my preference.

Did you post pics of the back of the Oris? I also prefer exhibition backs and I don't know that I would ever buy a watch without it.

I doubt it.

Go ahead, unscrew those screws that are countersunk in to the bezel.

Sunken datewheels because they didn't use a 7753 is a way bigger oversight.

I think I prefer the screws misaligned now. Looks less cute.

I know a guy with this watch - he's very happy with it. I think it looks great in person and I was planning on buying it eventually.

Not a unique taste progression, my housemate started with a Breitling Chrono Avenger and got an IWC Portugese Chrono about 2 years later too.....

i'm sure someone can explain it a lot better than myself but here it goes in a few sentences..

ETA movements are generic inexpensive movements used by A LOT of manfs. it is a very well built, reliable, proven movement..

many people have issues with more expensive watches using such movements seeing as the movement costs less than $100.
