Good lord, there are probably 4 xillion Rolex Datejust variants that meet your specs.
lol this x the number of DJ variants available
So I'm on a hunt for a real comfortable mechanical watch.
It has to be light and it has to be on rubber.
The Tag Carrera 5 Aquaracer in ti is 97 grams including the strap(according to the jeweler) and is something like $1,900 MSRP
This must be a prototype picture because it has a black datewheel which helps a lot.
Pros: Super easy to read, affordable, pretty cool design, comfortable, the lume is probably INSANE, seems incredibly durable, movement is all black(DLC?) and the exhibition window is smoked black, too
Cons: Cool design also means somewhat ugly. Not as comfortable as a Panerai 177L.
Next, Panerai 177L
99 grams including leather strap so rubber is probably a touch lighter.
It feels lighter though, not even on the wrist but holding it, the jeweler and I both agreed. Wouldn't he be using some amazing digital scale though? Weird that we both thought that.
VERY comfortable. Really easy to read, movement is wonderfully finished, real titanium look is awesome. Watch looks cool
Cons: Manual wind is kinda meh. Not a huge deal and I guess it keeps weight and dimensions down. 6k for an ETA movement. I'm not sure if this has anti-glare, I've heard it does, but if it does it definitely isn't as strong as most watches. 44mm + crown is a touch too big.
What else is out there? I also got to wear the 40mm JLC ultra thin. OMFG that thing is so light it's like there isn't a watch on your wrist, just a leather strap! In-house movement, same price as the PAM, gorgeous, etc. but animal straps just don't conform to my wrist as well as I'd like so it still wouldn't be ultra comfortable, and I'm not putting it on rubber.
