Since your in NYC you can throw out an offer for a face to face deal (a lot of buyers prefer that)

I recently sold my IWC via EBAY.. got stuck sending it to Germany which sucked (additional 120 bucks in duties and taxes), didn't think about this beforehand but asked for 100 extra (which was fine) just didn't realize about the duties and taxes.

Payment was hung up in Paypal until he cleared it, thought that was standard procedure (ie it didn't clear first).

I ordered my Stowa in the beginning of January, and I'm still waiting to hear from them. They are supposed to contact me a couple weeks before it ships so I can pay. The original ship date was supposed to be the end of February... sadtrombone.wav

I like their chronographs even better. I have the m199s which I was a bit weary about getting as I prefer auto to manual wind but the watch is absolutely incredible for the price.

Maybe I'm just ignorant and completely wrong but isn't everything that is made in China kind of crappy quality? Perhaps Sea-gulls are an exception but I agree that they look very nice for the price.

I don't think I've seen a handwound Moonphase before; looks very nice.
I think there's something very satisfyingly oldschool about handwinding your watch every night before bed.

i got into watches reading through this thread, so i decided to search through this dutch second hand site and found this watch which seems like a steal.

epos

it's 395 euros (~$600) from 2007. anyone know about this brand?

edit: oh yeah, no one understands dutch ldo, pics @ bottom and i'll list specs here.

swiss epos 3369
diameter: 42 mm without crown.
age: 2007
all papers, box, booklet present.
state: like new, no damage, scratches etc.
movement: Unitas 6498-2 manual
black strap with "butterfly closer" (don't know what this would be in english tbh, but probably a clip sort of thing.

edit: just found enough energy to google it, and found it for $867 new...

I like my Sea-Gull but the chronograph resets to the increment next to the zero (1/5 sec or whatever) instead of the zero. Pretty weak for a brand new watch. Probably not worth sending back though.

Fashion/etiquette question.

I've never worn any jewelry, but was recently given my grandfather's ring, which includes my great grandmother's engagement stone. It is 18k gold. Should it be worn with some form of gold tone watch if worn on the same wrist/hand?

"They" say you should match metal. This usually means watch, cufflinks (if any), belt buckle, shoe buckle (in any). Rings are usually not part of this, and if the ring is a family item with much inner-value, screw what the fashion-nazis have to say and wear it however you want.
