So, remember last year for my 40th birthday, my mother gave me a Speedy. With my birthday coming up in a couple months, what do you guys think of this idea? I ask my mother to get me a birth year Pepsi Rolex GMT that can count as my birthday present for the next 10 years. Basically, it's my 50th birthday present given in advance for me to wear for the next decade, but then she also won't have to concern herself with smaller presents for the birthdays between, which she could like since she finds me difficult to buy for. Every birthday, I'll wear the Rolex.
i mean, if you can get that as a gift it would be hard to say no imo. Are you talking about the new model or the vintage one? I would not pay insane premium on those right now. I bought the BLNR for ~9k when it was relatively new and the pepsi models are going for almost double that. For having a jubilee bracelet, new colors and superlative chronometer. Not worth the money imo
i have never dabbled in vintage pieces and a cursory search on prices for those would make me look at other watches for that amount of money
