How do you guys think this would have any effect on a character and fitness review...

In 2001, I was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, but the charges were dropped on the condition that I complete this ARD program, so I was never convicted.

Some Law School apps asked if I had ever been arrested, some asked if I had ever been convicted of any crime. Because of this distinction I only provided the an arrest disclosure statement to the schools that asked if I had ever been arrested.

The school I ended up attending had the conviction question on the app and so I didn't send the disclosure statement. I'm sure this incident will show up in the Bar Cert. process, will it be a problem that I didn't provide the statement on my app? I'll probably just contact admissions or career services and see what they say, but I'd rather not.

The general advice is to disclose everything, no matter what. The conviction statements I saw often had caveats for pleading out or nolo or whatever as well. I'd check your application on LSAC.org and see what the exact language was. I would definitely consult an attorney who deals with admission to the bar if you think it could in any way implicate you.

I had a couple things like this and just made sure all of my answers were correct for whatever form I was filling out.

One law school app form asked if I had ever been on "academic suspension, academic probation/warning, or conduct-related suspension". I had only been on conduct-related probation. Since it listed the academic suspension and probation separately and not the conduct-related, I assumed it was excluded from what they wanted to know about.

The bar app also asked for problems in college and I listed everything out even though the record I requested from my college said "N/A" under any issues. I'd rather disclose that I got written up for drinking sophomore year of college then to try and lie about it. I was pretty confident they wouldn't care.

Seriously, just disclose everything. No one gives a crap that you got arrested for smoking pot a couple years ago, or were caught with a used bowl or whatever. We're lawyers, we do crazy sh*t, including drugs. Even if you got caught during law school, it won't be that big of a deal, as long as you're honest and up front about it.

If the bar kept out everyone who was arrested for drugs, there'd be a hell of a lot less lawyers (which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, but I digress). Whenever in doubt, just disclose. It can't hurt.

I really hate the people who get a higher grade then me and still say that they 'failed.'

Today's dumb question, if my law firm tells me to write something for when I come in next week do I get paid for the time I spend doing it at home?

I'm hopeless. Turns out '26.1 disclosure statements' are like motions and 80+ pages long. Or so was the sample he emailed me, along with the Restatement of Torts and 7 cases and a fact pattern.

Having never written one before, it's not in the time budget for a gig where I come in once a week. tune in Friday for when I get fired.

Job market must be pretty bad; our first offer to a potential summer clerk was accepted. We joke each year about our timeline, and how we will make an offer to our first choice, who is usually top 2-3%, they will reject, and we will move on to our second or third choice. I don't care how much you're looking for the lifestyle or are anti-Big Law; when you're a student especially, it's pretty tough to turn down the salary that's nearly twice what we are offering (if it's there).

It was funny, although prices have dropped about 50% over the past 2 years because of the great legal economy. 2 super bowl tickets went for 2100

Is there supposed to be a "not" in that sentence somewhere? Alternatively the "anymore" may not be necessary.

Just got my LSAT score. I was surprised it came in this early. Also I was surprised at my score. I thought I did horrible lol. I scored like 6 points higher than I thought I would have got.

Too bad I'm not applying though. Maybe I still should just for ***** and giggles.
