Haha. Don't worry schlunder I got the joke. lolz. But actually yea in that case the percentage would certainly go down. You don't exactly see too many people fist-pumping with a 150. I'd put the douchiness for complaining about a 150 at at about 2%.

That sounds quite unclassy. By the time I finished my midterms I found out tickets were sold out for our prom thing ("Barrister's Ball"). FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF Tilt. Oh well, still got 2 years left to go.

Every single law school's prom is called Barristers Ball. I'm very sure of this.

If there is a chocolate fountain at ours, I will drink out of it and mock those who don't. Hell I'd probably pay the $25 for an open chocolate bar.

plz smd

i couldn't care less that it's "objectively" a good score. i hold myself to a high standard and to me, it's a disappointing score. expressing frustration about a 173 that i happen to know is well below my potential is no more douchey than somebody else expressing frustration over a 150 which he believes is below his potential by a similar margin. the objective value of the score means little; what's important is how well the individual measured up to his goals. in this case i fell well short of mine, i'm pissed, and felt like saying so on the intrawebs. if that makes me a douche, then show me a suitably filthy vag to get to work on imo

gj you're pretty gold at a bunch of schools with that score. i think the 3.5 is only likely to hold you out of harvard/yale/stanford, anything else and you're prob set

EDIT: berkeley too i think. from what i've heard they look for high GPAs. a 3.5 might be too low no matter the LSAT score

Apparently that standard doesn't extend to proper capitalization. Also, no one who isn't a douchebag has ever said the above sentence fragment with a straight face. Note that lots of non-douchebags hold themselves to a high standard, but only a douchebag feels the need to advertise.

Expressing disappointment over a 150 isn't douchey because if you really wanted to be a lawyer your whole life getting a 150 likely ends that dream.

ok. but at the end of the day the generic goal of "becoming a lawyer" is just another goal, just like any other that people aspire to, and might invest tremendous efforts and their entire educational careers in. it's not like, simply because "becoming a lawyer" is an easier, more attainable goal than mine, that he's more entitled to that goal. what if somebody else's dream is to attend yale law school? getting a 173 likely ends that dream (tbh i'm not positive this is actually true, i'm not applying to yale but it's the toughest to get into, so i said it just for the sake of example). obviously the second guy isn't a douche simply because he has loftier goals. but neither is he a douche for not censoring himself from expressing frustration at missing his goals or satisfaction at attaining them.

i mean, obviously i'm well aware many people would be really happy with a 173, but that in itself shouldn't prevent me from being unhappy with it. and it's kind of stupid to get offended over that.

It's not that you're disappointed with a 173. It's that you posted about it.

wow, i love how nobody actually even attempts to challenge my point/analogy, instead just piling on in typical 2p2 fashion "UR A DBAG BC YOU POASTED THAT YOU WERE UPSET WITH A GOOD SCORE." ffs what about it do you not get?

say a 1st-round NFL CB prospect goes to the combine, and blows it and runs a 4.6 40. he's boned, because he totally blew it relative to his standards and it could cost him millions. he'd be perfectly justified in being pissed about it, and expressing frustration to anyone who will listen. and just because i, like most people, am way slower than that and would love to be in his position even with his 4.6, doesn't mean i should be hypersensitive and butthurt if he happens to complain to me about it. his standards are different from mine, and i accept that. so should you.
my situation is no different. i just went in and took the biggest exam of my life, and i ****ing blew it, with pretty enormous consequences. my chances at the top-tier law schools took a brutal hit. i dgaf that i ended up with a "good" score, because my own assessment of my performance is that i ****ing blew it. so don't ****ing tell me i'm not justified in being pissed off about it.

SICK BURN BRO

as far as i can tell people are saying: it's fine to be disappointed but not to complain in a public forum. my response is that both are perfectly fine, for the above stated reasons.

but since i've apparently completely missed the point, maybe use really small words so i can understand better?

If he wants to be unhappy with his score, then so be it. We don't know if his intention was to insert a hidden brag or if he was genuinely disappointed; We're on the f**kin internet for God sake's how can anyone tell and WHO GIVES A FKKK oifjgoisdfjgodifjo?

Enough with this sh*t man! Waste of time and pollution of the thread this back and forth crap. gl on the next one.

I'm still pretty pissed that the night before I took it the guys in the house behind us starting having jousts with brooms that they lit on fire in their backyard at 3 am and when I yelled at them to shut the hell up they threw a flaming broom at me.

I swear that cost me at least a couple points.

haters,

there's nothing wrong with trying to achieve your best and being constructively disappointed when you don't get there.

lolasthma,

fwiw I got the 180 my first time through, but missed two questions. aced it on my next try. if I ever sat down and reread my writing section I would probably have to take a month off work to relearn everything and take it again, lol.

lolasthma,

you might be genuinely disappointed, but u have to realize that you're simultaneously complaining and flaunting (purposely or not) your apparently superior intelligence to hordes of people, many of whom would be thrilled to have your score. so yeah, given this context, it's not too hard to see how you might come off like a douche.

Totally off-topic but my gf made me watch Legally Blonde this weekend. I'm really supposed to believe that Reese goes from a 143 on a practice test to a 179 on the LSAT in a several week span? Puh-leeeaze.

you perfected an entire LSAT? jesus, that's beyond sick. i wonder what % of the population is even capable of that

anyway i think i'm just gonna chill out a little more before round 2. won't be under that much pressure, because i want to end up at either berkeley or UCLA, and in theory the score i have now should be enough for both of those. in any case i'll probably be perfectly happy with 175+.

Hmmm, this post makes me think you should study a leetle bit more....

FWIW a 173 should be good for a pretty sweet deal from UCLA. Just don't show them this thread.

So I am getting a couple recommendations from some Profs. Is there any specific form they need to fill out? Or is it just a general To Whom it May Concern letter, and the Professor writes a little about me?

imagine you are a borderline NFL prospect, just hoping to get drafted. At the combine, some stud comes up to you and says "Damn, I ran slower than expected. Now I'll probably be a top 20 pick instead of top 5. My signing bonus will only be $20M. Woe is me."

How would you feel?

I've heard rumors that the firm I'm going to work for might delay start dates to January and only give us like $10k stipend! Not the best news I ever heard, but I don't lament the fact to my friends that don't have jobs lined up.

ej,

I was kinda bull**** when I bought a bunch of the "10 Real LSAT" books and they didn't include the writing section. Ended up having to get this book.
