Never, in my wildest imagination, did I ever believe there was such a thing as a Canadian Bruins fan. But there we have it.

Watched Runnin' Down A Dream while grading papers. I can't believe I've seen my last Tom Petty concert.

Soap was must-watch TV back when there was such a thing. So many great characters on that show including Benson. RIP.

I haven't thought about Soap in decades, but it was a really entertaining show.

I'm gonna come clean and admit that I never did care for Soap. For me it wasn't in the top notch 70s sitcom level with shows like Bob Newhart and Mary Tyler Moore. Soap just seemed like they wanted to press a bunch of hot cultural buttons for shock value.

RIP Benson

Soap was great and his spinoff pretty good too. He was great at playing the sane man in an insane environment. Soap was ahead of its time but flamed out pretty quickly.

Listening to his music has been a delight that never gets stale - even after 50+ years after first having heard him.

Soap was hilarious. They got all serious about stuff like that once in a while, but it shouldn't have spoiled the jokes. Both Benson and Jessica were great and rarely part of the social stuff that mostly was via Billy Crystal.

Caveat: I was 9-13 years old when it was on, so I can't be sure I'd like it that much now.

RIP Fats. He was one of my dad's favorites. Many a time we all listened to Fats on the 8 track in the car.

I remember watching it and loving it...especially Richard Mulligan and the Danny-marries-the-mob-daughter plotline.

Watched some it it just a couple years ago, and while it is quite dated, it still holds up.

Mulligan getting into arguments with the puppet were the best. Always had me on the floor.

This.

To this day, when some idiot starts talking poker theory at the table, I'll wave both hands above my head as I snap my fingers. Then I give them the self-satisfied look known only to those who can disappear at will.

Mulligan had the best reactions and double-takes of any actor, ever.

Celebrating Fats Domino:

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/26/a...cle-click&_r=0

Sold more records than anyone in 1950's rock and roll except Elvis Presley, and did it at a time when "race" music was still banned in much of the country.

Weird you've always struck me as an "All in the Family" guy.
The real peak 70's show. (don't worry I love Newhart too)
