Jim Steinman, the writer of many songs, in particular Meatloaf's I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)., Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart, and Celine Dion's It's All Coming Back To Me Now. He has many other songs under his belt, but I suppose those are the ones I find most significant.

I don't know much about the dude or his life beyond that. I don't know what anyone thinks of the songs, but I do like them for what they are.

Bat Out Of Hell was a hit when I was a freshman in high school, so those songs are important to me....used to love sitting in my basement with my friends, looking over the lyrics, as we played it LOUD.

Shock G was part of Digital Underground. Tupac got his debut with Digital Underground, and Shock G went on to produce for Tupac, Dr Dre, Prince, KRS-One, etc.
