Don’t know much about Philip other than as husband to the lady who has been queen my entire life but I’m not seeing much regret (nor joy) at his dying.

DMX was somehow an underrated rapper. He was always creative, inventive, and unique. You knew exactly who you were listening to when his music came on. He was one of my favorites.

Just because you don't care for his music or perhaps the way he lived his life, doesn't make him any less of a celebrity. I'm not sure if Madoff would be considered a "celebrity," but I don't see an issue with having him included. There has been multiple people listed in this thread who would be called notorious.

To me, a "celebrity" is someone the general population knows about, for better or worse. Obviously, some are harder to defend than others, but it's still information, and often entertaining to read everyone's thoughts.

I have mentioned this before, in relation to the death of Phil Spector, a horrible person but a lasting influence on popular music. I think that the title change should be removed because we then have to justify a title change based not only on influence but also the soundness of their character. Maybe just “Dead People who were good at what they did “
