I always liked Ara, he was the main color guy on ABC's college games back in the 70s. Class act and a great coach to boot.

I practiced law with a guy who played for Parseghian. My colleague spoke of him reverentially.

Former governor of Texas Mark White died. I remember him mainly for a bitter 1990 Democratic primary where he finished 3rd behind AG Jim Mattox and eventual winner Ann Richards. At one point, White and Mattox were bragging about who'd killed more men on death row, wild wacky stuff.

My mom was playing golf at a ladies tournament in Branson, Missouri a few years ago. They ran into Glen Campbell out on the course, and she said he couldn't have been nicer, really went out of his way to a fuss over a bunch of old lady golfers.

Glenn Campbell was great. Still have good memories of listening to his songs on an old phonograph out on the front porch during summer. A family favorite. Gentle on My Mind was and still is my favorite Campbell song.

Campbell started out as a session musician and was legendary for being able to hear a song one time and play it back perfectly (if he wanted to). My first guitar instructor, who was an extremely skilled studio musician, said that Campbell was as good as anyone he had seen.

Glenn Campbell was incredible. There's a doc on the studio musicians stable The Wrecking Crew, and everyone they talked to said Campbell was the best guitarist the ever saw.

RIP Joe Bologna

I always liked this guy. Most memorably for me in My Favorite Year and Blame it on Rio. He always seemed to have an attitude and presence about him that I found very entertaining.
