Sad news about Moore.

He was in the greatest Bond movie on his first outing.

Agree with your sad news comment; however, you've got to be kidding with your subsequent statement. I always disliked the way Roger Moore portrayed James Bond and none of his movies were great in any sense of the word. He was okay at first, but by the time he got to the ridiculous Moonraker, Bond was just a joke. In fact, by then Moore was playing him almost as a parody. If I want to watch a good James Bond parody, then I'll watch James Coburn in Our Man Flint, or even Dean Martin as Matt Helm. I don't need Roger Moore doing a comedic takeoff of the man himself. He was much better as Simon Templar in The Saint.

That said, R.I.P.

RIP Roger Moore Never really saw him as James Bond because I wouldn't watch any of them after Connery left. But he was my 3rd favorite Maverick.

Wow, I'm stunned.

As a native Miamian, a former student at the University of Miami, and a lifelong fan of the Hurricanes, I vividly remember Cortez Kennedy as a fierce defensive lineman on some of the greatest UM football teams of the 1980s. He was inducted into The U's Sport's Hall of Fame in 2004 as well as the football team's Ring of Honor in 2008 (along with fellow 2008 inductees Jim Kelly, Edgerrin James, Jim Otto, and Gino Torreta). And, of course, inducted into the NFL's Hall of Fame in 2012.

R.I.P. Cortez

I remember him well, always liked him.

Roger Moore came along as Bond when I was a kid, and I didn't really understand what this fake James Bond was doing in these movies. Such a mystery to my young mind. But I have always liked The Man With the Golden Gun.

When I think of Gregg Allman and the Allman Brothers, this is the song that comes immediately to mind for me:

I think I was 13 or 14 when it first came out and it and the band served as my introduction into Southern Rock.

R.I.P., Gregg

it's been probably a decade since my last show but i've seen the allman brothers at least a dozen times.

sometime in the early 90s i was living in the monterey bay area and a good friend of mine knew the owner of 'the club' in monterey...a small place with an elevated stage and table seating. Gregg was playing there with the alameda all stars and my friend hooked us up with a two-top table about 5 feet away from the stage right in front of Gregg sitting behind his hammond. yes it may be the most amazing concert experience of my life.

RIP Gregg.
