his band swings, and they are pretty much musicians known only for working with Mingus (other than Knepper on the bone and Frankie Dunlop and Dannie Richmond on drums, i suppose).
George Coleman was replaced by Wayne Shorter in early '64, but his recordings in '63 with Miles and the Hancock, Carter, Williams rhythm section are extremely enjoyable. he can find a pace on the tenor that outruns your ears.
