Dr Jekyll is the highlight of this album. the fastest pace you can imagine
Ornette from the late 50's. he wanted it to be titled Focus on Sanity, but he acquiesced to his producer. Ornette is literally playing a plastic saxophone. no chord structures and this is one of the transitional beginnings to free jazz.

Peace, which begins around 9:15, is both a transitional song in this particular album and a transitional song in the world of jazz. it's likely impossible to understand how broadly this song influenced the sound of jazz moving forward...
...which moves right into Focus on Sanity starting around 18:00. it's apparent why Ornette thought this should be the album title. at times it's as fast or faster (and as tight) than any hard bop to date, and at the same time it starts to explore the potential of free jazz.
