charlie,

I'm interested in the census question. In USA#n, it seems like it would be illegal to even ask; if they did, every possible thing would have to be listed, I imagine, to avoid making someone feel bad.

Was it a write-in answer, or select from a list? If the latter, did it have a ****-ton (metric?) of different things, and include options for atheists, agnostics, and the like?

For example, did they list Pastafarianism?

Good question on the census. I'm an atheist. Zeno is a heathen. Not sure we want that information in the wrong hands.

There were six or seven options, IIRC. Christian (not Church of England, or Catholic) was one of them. Some questions, like sexual orientation, were not compulsory, but I think the religion one was. Could be wrong. Mostly they were interested in household and employment.

I've often said that I have faith...in the scientific method. That's it, and that's all.

This is just additional proof that the English are insane.

I have fond memories of singing hymns every morning at primary school, Zeno. Nothing special or unusual about it. Long gone, now a shopping centre.

I have fond memories of the Best Newspaper in the World (I purchase them while in London), Let's all sing a hymn of praise to:

I'm a member of the Paige-ite sect of Zen Taoism. We believe that Satchel Paige was a Bodhisattva sent by heaven to instruct humanity.

"Keep the juices flowing by jangling around gently as you move."

If you haven't accepted that into your heart, there's no hope for you.

I must surely not be the only person who reads “private games, and the things that go down in them” and start giggling uncontrollably

i kind of remember paige. famous black picture from the cleveland indians. had some of his baseball cards. he was pitching when i was a kid. but later on in the 60's they let him pitch a couple innings in a game in kansas city.. i guess to commemorate his retirement. although he was retired long before that. i didnt see the game but some parts of it on the news so thats okay.
he was like yogi had some short sayings.

i remembered him, mostly because of an old trotter driver at yonkers raceway sachel werner. it was right around the time paige retired. when he retired they announced it and gave him one pacer to run on his last day. being no dummy i bet all i had on it. even though he was and old man. well they let him go wire to wire. whoda thunk that.
even all the suckers that lost clapped in the stands.

Well the English are insane, when you grow up you will realise that insanity is the only answer to life

But if you’re Irish drunkenness is an acceptable alternative

Half English, half Irish. I have conflicted feelings about everything.

change is good john try another country of origin. you dont want to be know as a drunk with no teeth.
04-07-2021 , 03:56 PM
Not having conflicted opinions on everything is silly, so good on you John
04-07-2021 , 08:27 PM
And what is wrong with being a drunk with no teeth? the lack of teeth helps the drink go down easier

Americans aren't all that concerned about royalty. There was something about being on Oprah that the news tried to shock and awe our citizen's with, but no one seemed to care what they had to say.

It's like when David Beckham joined the LA soccer team (whatever they are called). He appeared on several billboards selling cologne or something, and that's probably all the impact he had.

Regarding religion on the USA, there are probably 10,000 religions, so good luck documenting that.

royalty bulls**t is only in the eye of the fool. the only people you need to look up to are tall people.

I was alluding to the headlines in Zeno's favourite newspaper.
