Although I concede that a religious experience touring a presidential library is of very low probability, it is not impossible. It is unfortunate, in my estimation, that your visit to the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda did not produce a more exhilarating experience but certainly hope it proved worthwhile and informative. Libraries are, after all, a useful civilizing influence and deserve promotion and funding and frequent visits.
I think you will agree that the setting of my vision, near Nixon’s old ocean turf, is more conducive to the experience I related, and thus more probable. Beautiful turquoise colored water, pounding surf, and an endless heavenly sky simmering into a distant horizon has all the needed elements for seeing a former U.S. president hover over the waters of the deep, floating effortlessly on gossamer wings, and giving a former voter a benediction, with a sly wink. Certainly, John Milton would agree.
