Saw Mel Brooks on live TV tonight. He seems in amazing shape for his age. He looks about 150 but he's sharp both mentally and physically.

Russell Crowe was on the show too and Mel Brooks mentioned that he and Carl Reiner watch Gladiator every month.

So they do like gladiator movies!

Nice pics z. I miss the west already.

Been watching the Vietnam doc and now Kioshk's avatar has me on tilt.

For those who are in Vegas, are you all okay? What's happening out there now?

Just cleaning up now, Dave...seems to be a lone nut. Horrible.

da big fish r in chetco bay. someone nearby should get a few. they only open it 2 weekends i think.

Shortest season I've heard of for any prey.

its a bubble season just outside the jetties in the ocean. then the bay opens for a different season. or something like that i dont fish down that way so not sure. but someone on here does or should. if he wants to post another pic of a 40 pounder.

he is gallivanting around the globe right now.

Gallivanting has to be one of the best things one can do.

looks like the daily limit is a single fish >28" http://www.dfw.state.or.us/MRP/salmo...ate_Waters.pdf

much of the salmon fishing the limit goes between one and two fish a day, unless way up river where they are less desirable and spawned out and usually hatchery raised fish.

coho also called silvers run 6 to 20 pounds and kings also called chinook run 12 to 50 or more but rarely so.

common size is about 16 to 24 pounds for chinook.

there are only a few rivers left where fish go into the 35 pound range or more.
people keep every fish they can and especially the big ones and the gene pool has vanished for them.

Be back in early November - still good fishing in some rivers nearby for salmon in Nov-Dec. In fact November is usually the best month for a few rivers, depending on when the heavy rains begin. My brothers may come down and join me for the salmon fishing.

Fishing jetties/near ocean and in bays and estuaries is a bit different than standard up river fishing as far as technique.

yea up river is more fun for me as well.
i do like catching a fresh ocean fish as they fight much better especially with the open water.

So I'm in LA for the weekend for the David Lynch Festival of Disruption. Pretty cool so far.
10-16-2017 , 01:20 PM
I'm also in LA for the weekend, what's up with that, man? Just kidding. I wouldn't have had the time, but I know you have to agree with me that downtown is amazing these days, right?

I feel like the population of LA doubled since I left. Just crazy.

Downtown is pretty cool, now. The Grand Central Market has some great food.

No, I didn't get fired. Just moving into another administrative position. I do work slowly, but rarely complain.
